Public Certification Registrar
A Certification Registrar so that anyone can check a claim that a person is currently Salesforce Certified e.g. CONS201, ADM201, ADM301, DEV401, or DEV501
Use Case: A company wants to engage a Consultant/Contractor that advertise that s/he is Salesforce DEV501 Certified. The recruiter goes to a public Salesforce Certification Registrar website and types in the recruit details e.g. Surname and/or email and/or State/Country.
The result will confirm if the person is currently Salesforce Ceritified, Level of Certification and Date Certification Obtained.

Compare field value to the value of another field
I recommend adding the option to compare a field to the value of another field when running reports.
Sometimes we need to run a report that displays only records of which a specific field value is compared to the value of another field of the same object or related one.
For instance, run a report on Assets where Asset Name does not equal the related Product Name (of Product2 object).

Custom Reports - One Parent, Multiple Children
Sometimes when reporting, we'd like to be able to report on a parent object and multiple child objects, rather than straight down the parent-child-grandchild chain.
In our company, child contracts are produced from parents opportunities. Our finance team want to be able to look at the contracts and the Opportunity Products in the same report to allow them to work out what products are being sold for each contract we produce.
Could this not be a possibility or is there a way to link all three objects together to allow for combined reporting?

Set the dashboard Running User as "current user" (dynamic)
I'd love to be able to create one dashboard that could suffice for all reps in a region or globally - i.e., instead of giving them a view from their one common executive's perspective, the one dashboard would instead update based on their particular records they were allowed to see.
For example, VP of Sales dashboard might currently show a bar chart that shows 650 leads broken out into 6 statuses. I'd like to set the Running User to "current user" instead of "VP of Sales" - so my proposed dashboard would show a particular rep in that region their 29 leads and the 3 applicable statuses those leads are in, instead of the overall perspective that might not be so relevant to them.
(Note that the current "static" Running User option should stay available too, as it's good for times when competition is desired.)

Exception Reporting (outer joins)
There needs to be the ability to run exception or without reports. For example: show me all Accounts without an Opportunity. It would also be nice to include the total number of accounts in the report so % comparisons could be made. For example: of the 1000 Accounts in salesforce.com, 350 did not have Opportunities, hence 35% of all accounts are without an opportunity.

Password reset emails should be "from" the Administrator who reset it
Currently, when I (as a System Administrator) reset the password for one of my users, it triggers an email to be sent. This email comes from support@salesforce.com. My users will often reply to this email, thinking they are replying me, but instead it creates a case for Salesforce.com Customer Support. My user is confused that I don't respond, and Salesforce.com Customer Support gets cases cluttering their queue and some unnecessary work. What I would like is the email to come from the Sys Admin who reset the password (or better yet, the ability to choose one of my Org Email Addresses), it would really help.
P.S. I realize my users shouldn't be replying to these emails in the first place, but...it happens.

Select and Order Report Columns on the Same Step
Consolidating the current 'Select Columns' and 'Order Columns' into a single step would save users significant time when customizing reports. Using an interface similar to the one presented when configuring column headers on a list view, users could both select and order columns on the same screen. Users could also narrow the available fields by selecting a specific section, and/or perform a search for the column they wish to add.
Ability to export or print the report chart with the report
Some of our users are frustrated that the accompanying chart on a report cannot be printed with the report (whether printing or exporting) or printed with the report when scheduling. Right now they are right clicking on the chart, saving the jpg and then inserting into the excel file. This leaves room for error, like if a user accidentally attaches the wrong chart to the wrong report. Although not as high a priority as some of the other ideas we'd like to see implemented, it is a feature that should be considered.
Allow Record Name to be formula field while allowing autonumber
So I was creating a custom object today, and once again found myself in the dilemma - do I make the record object an autonumber or a text field?
If I make it a text field, I have to trust that my users are going to stick to the naming conventions in place, but often they don't.
If I make it an autonumber field, then I'm stuck with a record name that's not very useful, like "Client Case No 0164".
Wouldn't it be great if we could set things up so that we could have a custom formula field as a user was creating a new record, which would feed off certain mandatory fields in the record?
I'd like, for example, to create a record name that included the name of the Account, as well as a date from a custom date field, and also a short bit of descriptive text by the user. So my record name would end up using a formula like this (and excuse an syntax errors):
{!Account Name} " - Case No " & {0000} & " - {!date} - {!Free text}
Making my record name look like:
"Joe Bloggs - Case No 0654 - 02/05/2008 - New bicycle"

Warning dialog if you are about to leave a Report with unsaved changes!!
All too frequently I modify the configuration of an existing Salesforce.com Report in the web interface, run the report, and then forget that I've made changes to the configuration and browse away, losing all those changes.
It would be superb if there was a warning dialog that popped up if a user tried to navigate away from a Report with unsaved changes (like there is in the Force.com IDE if you try to close any file with unsaved changes - screenshot above).
This warning would save an infinite amount of angst, head-bashing, tears, and would probably significantly reduce the load on Salesforce's reporting services since users wouldn't be rebuilding their Reports as much!

3 columns in page layout
To reduce scrolling and keep the contacts page as compact as possible it would be nice to have 3 columns (or even more) to display in the page layout. We use check boxes quite a bit and they could easily be displayed in more than 2 columns to save space.

Multiple Master-Detail relationships
It doesn't seem to be possible to create a chain of master-detail relationships, like this:
House -> Key Set -> Key
Using this example, I can create a master-detail relationship between House and Key Set. But I cannot then create one between Key Set and Key, as the Key Set object doesn't appear on the drop-down menu when I try to add a master-detail field on the Key object.
This means:
- I can't use roll-up summary fields on Key Set
- If I delete a Key Set, the Key objects under it won't be deleted
Please make it possible to chain master-detail relationships.
