I recently discovered Workflows so have set a couple up to automatically send an email template to the contact when a field is changed, but disappointingly I have also just found out that when you do this, it doesn't record that you have sent the email. In which case, I might as well do it manually?! As at least then I have a record that the email has been sent.
Any suggestions?

When defining the outbound message, you can include as many fields from the record as possible to be included in the message. You can also include the sesion ID. The message is not a synchronous call and does not support the ability to get a return value and act on that. Once the message is delivered, the end point may choose to perform any action.

No more polling is a very good thing.. Really looking forward to this in next version.. Solves so many problems which require database processing.. Will this be for all entities, not just custom entities as show above??.. i.e. can we have an update on the task entity send a message to our local webservice?? This is a great hook to perform processing which currently cannot be achieved with salesforce.com.. Essential!! Also what about transactions on this.. i.e. if my local webservice is down.. does the message just get lost? Anyway to prevent this??
