hemm has put their finger on it. The current workflow is somewhat like a pretzel.

Think about this process:
1. I create content within Salesforce based upon all of the wonderful information stored there. (it could be an upload, it could be a salesforce content item, or a merged template)

2. THEN I want to throw it out where I can share it and collaborate within the google docs platform

3. THEN I want to bring back a new version of said document.

@mehdi_shahi_avdi:

That is not what I am asking for.

Imagine having a "Proposal Template" document in MS Word on your desktop. You want to start a proposal and use Google Docs to collaborate on it before you send it out to the prospect.

You then go to that Opportunity and click for a new Google Doc. You get the option of either starting a blank document (the only option currently) or uploading a document from your harddrive (a new option). You choose to upload a new document and then browse to that proposal template in MS Word. That gets converted to a Google Doc and associated with your Salesforce account in one step. Google already has the ability to upload a document from your desktop to start a new Google Doc, but Salesforce doesn't tie the user experience into that process.

In today's world, a user would have to separate go to Google Docs, import their Proposal Template to create a Google Doc, then go back to Salesforce and choose to associate that document with their record. Not the end of the world, but some steps could be removed from this process to make it more seamless.

so what you want is once you create a Google doc, a pop up appears
>new
>existing
when existing chosen, it retrieves your document names from Google and you choose which one you need to import?

Great idea!! there is nothing stopping us from delivering this. How about when you create a doc, you get 2 options...create new or upload existing. For example, you would be able to upload a XLS into a Google Spreadsheet or a DOC into a Google Document.
