Event enhancements to allow meeting minutes or reports
I would like to see the following enhancements on events:
1. ability to accept for an invitee. Now if the invitee does not click accepted on his invitation but calls to tell you he accepts you will not be able to put him in the accepted list
2. ability to register after the meeting if the person actually attended or not
3. ability to create meeting minutes or event reports in a separate object that are linked to the event that could automatically be sent using an email template to the attendees of the meeting or other people
This would save great time in creating/distributing meeting minutes and to communicate any follow-up activities that are resulted from the event.
This functionality is currently not available and I do not know a way to create this using custom objects since I cannot reference an event on custom objects.
Add multiple attachments at once
When attaching files to an email they must be selected one at a time. The process is cumbersome if there are multiple emails to attach to one email. It would be helpful if somehow multiple files could be attached to an email at one time.
Blank spaces in Page Layout
A number of times I have been requested to line up fields horizontally with each other. This can only be done if there are fields above the desired horizontal line up. I propose that SFDC make blank fields available to be added to page layouts so that the placement of fields is more flexible.
I think the picture explains what I want better than I could in words.

Calender Entry created from Object Date/Time Field
It would be great if a workflow was possible that created a new event on a calendar from data in a time/date field on a particular object.

Allow Inline Editing of ALL Activity fields
Currently you can use inline editing to update certain fields (such as Subject, Purpose, Type, Comments), but not others (Due Date, Name, Related To, Priority, Status, Assigned To, Record Type). Please open up all editable Task & Event fields for inline editing.

Allow Activities to roll-up to the Account when they are created on related records in Custom Objects like they roll up when created on a related contact
It gets confusing to end users when certain activities roll-up to the account and other activities do not. Also, users often complain because they don't get to see all activities related to an account on one screen. So we should be able to optionally have any activities that are created in related custom objects, roll-up to the Account, the same way activities that are created on a contact or opportunity roll-up to the account.
Also, it would be ideal if any parent-child (lookup), relationship allowed for this functionality, where you can have any activities that are created on the child, appear on the parent.
Also, just to be clear. I am NOT talking about roll-up summary fields.

Enable creation of new categories for new Report Types
New Report Types are more often than not based on new custom objects.
So limiting the storage of such reports within existing object categories or the all-purpose 'Other Reports' category isn't adequate.
So please enable users to create new categories for new Report Types.
You know it makes sense.
API capability to retrieve Recent Items list of ID's
An Uncommon request... In an integrated application with a visual front end, I have a need to "start" the user someplace in their Account/Contact/Opportunity records.
It would be helpful if the GetUserInfo call could return the most recent "n" record ID's from that users "Recent Items" list. I don't need types, etc., that can be figured out, just the ID's would be sufficient.
This way the external interfaces can easily start the user at the most recently used records that they were using in the standard UI.
Discussion:
Clearly you can get around this now by just providing some ID through whatever mechanism you use to launch the application in the cases where it's launched via a URL or a web services call.
However doing this in a more standardized way would be better.
I can also see the value in not burdening the GetUserInfoResult with an extra 300 bytes or so when most people won't use this. Perhaps GetUserInfo can be parameterized to control it's inclusion. Pass an integer between 0 and 10 (defaulting to 0) to indicate how many MRU ID's you want returned.
I don't expect many people to find this useful. But it would be handy and, I suspect, easy to do.
Thanks, Steve.

Reports - Attach Excel Doc to Reports with Refresh Option
Add the ability to upload an Excel doc to a report with the ability to re-run and refresh all sheets in document.
1. Create Report and use button Export Detail to create Excel doc. Report is exported to Excel doc on a worksheet named "Data"
2. Once in Excel, create pivots tables, charts, etc based on worksheet named "Data"
3. When finished save Excel doc, and use the Upload XLS button on the report layout to store the Excel doc onto the report.
4. When a refresh of the Excel doc is needed, use the Refresh XLS to run the report and populate the Data worksheet with new report data and refresh all pivots and charts.

Build Email Template - Send Yourself a TEST Email
When I build an email template, I have to open a new screen, pick a sample lead and send myself a test mail template to make sure the formatting is correct and it looks ok.
Salesforce should include a button on the template that says, "Send Test Message" just so you can see how the mail will turn out.

Lead Conversion: Automatically set the contact as the "primary contact" of the opportunity
When converting a lead, three records are automatically created:
An account,
An opportunity,
A contact,
The contact should be automatically set as the "primary contact" of the opportunity.
Currently the only link between the opportunity and the contact is the account. This makes any campaign list difficult ot establish
Thanks

Automate tasks in relation to Campaign members
Give Users (Roles) the ability to assign Tasks "en mass" as follow-up activities to a campaign. These Open Activities would be logged against the Contacts (Members) of a campaign. For example, when a User creates a direct mail campaign consisting of 200 Contacts, he/she can then assign a follow-up call for the Sales Rep who owns those contacts. These follow-up tasks would be listed as Open Activities on all Contacts who are members of the campaign. In short, this allows you to post multiple tasks at once while associating them with specific campaign members.
