Show Required Fields without Double-Clicking
With the new in-line editing feature, the only way to see required fields is to double-click. Please show that the field is required without double-clicking.
Remove value --None-- pick picklist fields
Currenttly SFDC standard value where no value in a picklist is selected is --None--.
This is confusing user experience if the picklist also contains a value 'None'
We would like to either remove the --None-- value or replace with a custom value
Customizable Record Type defaults for Lead Conversion
When converting Leads, please give us the ability to define the Record Type for any new Accounts, Contacts, or Opportunities that are created. Today, records created from a Lead conversion take on the default Record Type of the User performing the Lead conversion. A more useful approach would be to allow Administrators to define a default Account, Contact, and Opportunity record Type based on the Lead Record Type.
Designate "Send From" email for Work Flow alerts
I would like to be able to designate a sender for a workflow email alert.
Some uses for this would be to trigger an email to a user from a manager for a lapse in SFDC usage, or to send an email out from a manager to a sales team to promote a sales reps effort's on a large opportunity that they've won.
Multiple contact email addresses
It would be useful for multiple email addresses to be allowed for a single Self Service user or Contact.
Many of our customers have several email addresses and often send email to support from the wrong one or just a different one to that which they are registered under.
Allowing for multiple email addresses would still associate the case with the contact.
Sales and Account Team Spaces
We've been exploring the concept of a common place to pull together a team, share knowledge and build the resources/expertise needed to close a deal.
Here are some scenarios we see:
* Find experts - Search expertise profiles to pull in people across the company who can support the deal
* Keep everything (notes, RFP's, etc.) in context for the team and make it easy for new members to get up to speed
* Coordinate with the group - Email, Discussion threads, Activity Feeds, Tasks
What do you think? What sorts of tools do your sales teams use to collaborate today?
Ability to reference Parent/Child Account fields in formulas
This should be pretty simple yet painful if not impossible to implement today from the web interface. I want to be able to create a formula field in a Child Account that gets its values from fields in the Parent Account or vice versa.
I see that when you create a Field Update formula, there is a drill down to related Objects. It's a step to the right direction. Please replicate this to other formula dialog boxes and add drill downs to Parent or Child Account.
Use Social Networks to Connect the Dots
With the rise of online communities and social networking, we have much deeper data about people's interests and new ways to "search" our networks for people who can help with a deal. The challenge now is incorporating all of that data into day-to-day selling.
Some ideas we're working on:
* See social network profiles in the context of a Lead or Contact record
* See who you know that works at an Account or Opportunity
* See who you know that can introduce you to a prospect
* See who your colleagues know through their social networks
Do these scenarios sound like they would fit into your sales process? What are some of the techniques you use today to Connect the Dots?
Account, Contact and Opportunity Discussions
Email is the easiest way to communicate with your team, but it's also too easy to lose context. Either the message gets lost in your inbox, or you have the message but not the context. Associating emails with Salesforce records is a good way to work around this issue, but what if we integrated Discussions more directly?
Not only would it be easier to keep your notes organized for the deal at hand, but you're also automatically building a knowledge archive for the next deal. Searching and reusing that expertise could potentially shorten sales cycles.
What are your thoughts around embedding discussions right in the context of an Account, Contact or Opportunity?
Quote as Standard Object!
It would be GREAT to have Quote as an Standard Object within salesforce SFA.
Delete Associated Dashboards with Report
When trying to delete a report we used for default dashboards that are no longer applicable, we get the error above. Without the ability to manage each person's dashboard, we are forced to hide these reports in a folder somewhere in hopes that all of our users will eventually notice it's broken and move them. This has created a giant mess in our folder structures.
Either give us the capability delete the reports and links to the dashboards or give us a list of which users/dashboards it's linked to so we can ask those users to remove them manually.
News Feeds
News Feeds are a great way to keep up to date with your team as well as learn about other things that are happening in your organization. Living on your home page, it's a quick sampling of recent activity around the records that interest you, and a jumping off point to take action.
Here is some feedback we've heard from customers:
“A lot of times our lenders change the opportunity but you don't know it until you go in and view it, so I think this is really helpful. I would want to know if the account owner changed, or a contact was added to a company."
“The constant workflow items that come up: if a case meets a certain criteria, or a contact... or if a new asset is created, sales announcements, opportunities closing, new products. If it were customizable enough, we could push certain fields, kind of like a workflow trigger."
Are these "stories" compelling to you? What are some stories you would like in your Feed?
