Cross Object Workflow
Do not hard code the Object (see above image) when creating Workflow Field Updates. Allow administrators to choose a field to pass based on a relationship (lookup or master detail). For example, a Workflow Rule based on Case would be allowed to have a Workflow Field Update change a Contact field for the Contact record associated with the Case.
Dashbaord refresh emails
Currently you can only email admin or a particular role a dashboard refersh.
It makes sense to be able to email the running user! you can only set it to email a role or group and if its a personal dashboard this makes it impossible as it only needs to go to the running user.
Enable Access to Raw Post Data in Visualforce Pages
It would be great if we could access the raw post data sent to a visualforce page (exposed through Salesforce Sites) ...
e.g.
postData = ApexPages.currentPage().getRawPostData();
This would enable us to process XML from a variety of outside services (such as Google Checkout).
Cross-Object Formula for Owner field
We want to take advantage of the Summer '08 functionality of having a cross-object formula field to auto-populate some user information for the owner of a record. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be possible. We can get user information from the "Created By" and "Last Modified By" fields, but not the "Owner" field.
Please allow us to access the User record for the Owner field in a field formula so we don't need to use a trigger to get this information.
Event enhancements to allow meeting minutes or reports
I would like to see the following enhancements on events:
1. ability to accept for an invitee. Now if the invitee does not click accepted on his invitation but calls to tell you he accepts you will not be able to put him in the accepted list
2. ability to register after the meeting if the person actually attended or not
3. ability to create meeting minutes or event reports in a separate object that are linked to the event that could automatically be sent using an email template to the attendees of the meeting or other people
This would save great time in creating/distributing meeting minutes and to communicate any follow-up activities that are resulted from the event.
This functionality is currently not available and I do not know a way to create this using custom objects since I cannot reference an event on custom objects.
Scheduled and Emailed Reports & Dashboards
I want the ability to schedule the refresh of a dashboard or a report.
The report results would be stored (so users can see the refreshed report online immediately).
Also, the Report or Dashboard could be scheduled for delivery by email to specified users or groups.
Allow reporting on Approval History
We are using the approval workflow but need to be able to report on where all records in a given process are (i.e., which step, who is the current approver). Opening up the approval history for any & all records that are going through an approval process would give us this ability. It should be from the point of view of the object looking at the approval history like it was a related list.
Add multiple attachments at once
When attaching files to an email they must be selected one at a time. The process is cumbersome if there are multiple emails to attach to one email. It would be helpful if somehow multiple files could be attached to an email at one time.
Blank spaces in Page Layout
A number of times I have been requested to line up fields horizontally with each other. This can only be done if there are fields above the desired horizontal line up. I propose that SFDC make blank fields available to be added to page layouts so that the placement of fields is more flexible.
I think the picture explains what I want better than I could in words.
Visual force as Custom related list
Allow developers to view visualforce pages as related-List item in the related list section of an object.
Not always each and everything needed to be displayed in the related-list section would necessarily need to have a direct relationship with the object.
Calender Entry created from Object Date/Time Field
It would be great if a workflow was possible that created a new event on a calendar from data in a time/date field on a particular object.
