Model a Business Process using Task Templates (Action Plans)
Businesses often have repeatable processes that could be modeled with a series of tasks in Salesforce.com. An example of this might be a process for a new client where the same five tasks need to be executed each time a new client is brought on-board. Users should be able to create templates for this task series. Once the template is created, they should then be able to easily apply the template each time the same process is required in the future. This would eliminate duplicate effort involved with creating the tasks.

Creation of any object via workflow rule.
I had many requests in crating new objects such as opportunity after period of 1 year, however there is no such option in the workflow rules it would be nice to have. It would be more robust than writing apex code.

Public directory to connect with other salesforce.com customers?
Have you ever wondered who is using salesforce.com and how you'd connect with them?
Now that we've released salesforce to salesforce S2S, you can easily connect with companies and contacts you know and then share data with them.
But what about finding companies based on a profile search or a set of attributes like type of company, vertical focus, market coverage, business need, location etc etc?????
Would you opt in to publish your business profile and make it publicly visible?

Do you want to share Cases with other salesforce.com customers?
Today with Salesforce to Salesforce you can collaborate on leads, opportunities and any custom object (e.g. MDFs, Orders) with other companies (e.g. resellers, vendors, distributors, suppliers) that are using salesforce.com.
Will you be interested in using the above service to collaborate on cases with third-party agents?

SF Mobile - Team Data for Tasks and Events
Currently, users cannot download team data on SF Mobile for Tasks and Events. For example: If was was a Sales Manager or above and wanted to see data on all onsite visits taking place (Logged Calls) in SF Mobile, I cannot do it. Currently I can only see my own or those that relate to me directly.
I believe you could do this in early 2008, but it recently dissappeared. We couldn't use tasks and events much on mobile previously because the start and end appointment times weren't working correctly. Now those are fixed, but we can't create any views for the data logged in the system.
In the help guide on the Salesforce Mobile console it says you cannot synch "All Records" for Events. We would like to synch the user's team records but it is not an available option for events.
Optionally, use filters to restrict the records that a parent or child data set includes:
Use the Filter by Record Ownership options to configure Salesforce to automatically synchronize records based on the owner of the record. The possible options are:
All Records: Salesforce automatically synchronizes all records the user can access. The All Records option is not available for tasks and events when they are parent data sets in a mobile configuration. This helps prevent failed data synchronization due to activity filter queries that take too long to run.
User's Records: Salesforce automatically synchronizes all records the user owns.
User's Team's Records: Salesforce automatically synchronizes all records owned by the user and the user's subordinates in the role hierarchy.
User's Account Team's Records: Salesforce automatically synchronizes accounts for which the user is an account team member, but does not include accounts owned by the user.
User's Sales Team's Records: Salesforce automatically synchronizes opportunities for which the user is a sales team member, but does not include opportunities owned by the user.
None (Search Only): Salesforce does not automatically synchronize any records for this data set; however, users can use their mobile devices to search all of the records they can access.
Salesforce should bundle with an E-Commerce Payment Gateway provider
I think it would be beneficial for SFDC to partner with CyberSource, an E-Commerce Payment Solutions Provider, in order to process credit card information through the SFDC application. This way customers would be able to take orders from a website, process the credit card, and have all customer/order info stored in SFDC automatically. I know that the Slipjack solution exists, but CyberSource offers many more fraud detection products and e-commerce solutions. Let me know if there is already a solution like this out there.
Thanks!

Workflow Event Action Needed
We are currently limited in our workflow actions to task, email, field update and outbound message. An event is needed as part of a workflow. Our current workaround is a workflowed task to manually create the event that is needed. Please include events as a workflow action in a future release!

Delegated Approver should have edit capabilities on records that have been submitted for approval
Having the "Record Editability" setting set to "Administrator OR Current Approver" does not apply to the delegated approver. There should be an option that allows the delegated approver to edit records after they have been submitted for approval.
We have the need to have records edited during different steps of the approval process. With this being the case, the delegated approver is useless because they cannot edit the record. This also holds up the approval as the records will have to sit in queue waiting for the assigned approver to make the necessary changes before it can move along in the process.

"Mail Merge" into Excel Spreadsheet
Most businesses use Microsoft Excel, financial institutions rely heavily upon it. Wouldn't it be great if you could do this:
1. Create an Excel spreadsheet on your desktop, using markers like "<opportunity>" in fields
2. Upload the spreadsheet into Salesforce
3. Open any opportunity and do a "Mail Merge" merging the Salesforce data neatly into the spreadsheet.
This facility could be made available on all fields of all objects. It would make it very easy to create our own analysis sheets, including data directly from Salesforce without the complexity of the API and web services.

Account & Opportunity Views including Teams
Hi! I am interested in having my sales team log in to SFDC and having them see all of their accounts. I want them to see accounts where they are the owners of the account as well as accounts where they are on the account teams.
This makes so much sense. If I am on an account team, that account should appear in my view of "my accounts," right? Not just accounts where I am the owner.
What do you think?

Middle Initial Field
Add a middle initial field to the name field. Creating legal docs requires middle initials & if you add it to the first name field when you create letters, emails etc using a template/merge feature the salutation pulls in the middle initial as well. Example: John M. Smith would appear in legal docs as the full name but a letter would appear as "Dear John M.". Not very professional if not corrected which requires correction each time (i.e. loss of production).

Copy Approval History When Converting a Lead to an Opportunity
When a Lead is Converted to an Opportunity, any Approval History that exists on the Lead currently does not copy over...it essentially disappears. It would be great if the Approval History transferred over so that all the Approvals that have ever taken place for a given Opportunity can be viewed.
This is the same thing that happens today with Activities and Notes/Attachments (they get transferred over during the Conversion process to the Opportunity and/or Account), so why not have the same happen with Approval History?
This could be important in highly regulated industries such as Healthcare and/or Financial Services, where Compliance often dictates that all history and approvals should be retained for the life of a customer.
