Cases in PRM
I would really like to see access to Cases in PRM. One of the major benefits to a Partner would be to have the ability to log cases with Tech Support directly from their PRM. There has got to be more benefits to a Partner than to get their leads and report pipeline - otherwise they will never log on and the PRM is loosing the attraction compared to the cost involved implementing this application.
Thanks
Annie

Let partners brand their storefronts like eBay
Partners should be able to brand their app detail pages like an eBay storefront, eg
- position our unique content
- post our best offers
- reflect our business practices and policies

Pre-release improvements
The current pre-release process is broken in a few ways
1. No code freeze
The pre-release environment is very different from the eventual release. When we find a bug in pre-release, we're never certain if it's an artifact of pre-release or if it's actually a new bug.
Conversely - and much, much worse - things that work perfectly in pre-release suddenly break when the new release actually goes live because salesforce's developers are adding new features & new code long after pre-release is available.
2. Namespace changes
Changing the namespace of our code makes it much more difficult to actually develop or bugfix on pre-release. We would have to fork our existing code with the new namespace, and then eventually merge changes back into the mainline while being careful not to bring the mangled namespace back with.
3. Inability to test packaging
I want to be able to build a package in pre-release, upload it to a private AppExchange package, and then install it onto a separate org (maybe sandbox?) to test that entire cycle.
The Winter09 release in particular has shown just how important each of these items is, as many partners and ISVs have had to deal with a two week period of breakage since the release.
These past two weeks have entailed a lot of late nights for partners and for salesforce's own developers; this could have been avoided with a better pre-release process.

Salesforce Product Kit for Partners
As partners, its very hard to sell the add-on features to Salesforce.com when some of us haven't ever touched them, administered them, or been able to use them on a regular basis. Microsoft often gives away their entire software suite to their partners for a song, in order to provide their partners with the tools they need to sell and support that software. Salesforce should provide complimentary licenses of the follow features/products to their partners for free or very little cost:
Salesforce to Salesforce
Salesforce Partners/PRM
Salesforce Content
Salesforce Customer Portal
Salesforce Sandbox
Salesforce Mobile
Force.com/Platform Edition
one Unlimited Edition org for the partner's internal use
and more...
Many 3rd party AppExchange providers give free accounts to other Salesforce.com partners to help them sell their solutions. I think that Salesforce.com should do the same itself for its loyal partners.

Link to FedEx and UPS
I would like to have the ability to automatically merge our shipping address data with websites such as FedEx and UPS. All of the information is available in Salesforce, but has to be manually entered into their website for each package. This function is currently available for USPS and DHL through Shipping 2.0, but there is a big hole by not including these major carriers.

Scalable to be used like a CMS(Content Management System)
Salesforce is designed for managing the sales activities of a company and automating it.
I think SFDC has to be modified so that it can be extrapolated into a CMS with provision of Member registration and Login, this should not be confused with the current "User" Object as "User" can be likened to an Admin whereas by members I mean Front end users.

Package Standard Button Overrides
When you override the functionality of a standard button (e.g. "New", "Edit", "Clone", etc.) in an app, you cannot package this override as part of your app, even for Custom objects. This is really annoying for the end user of the app as it requires numerous additional setup steps, especially if you have lots of overrides as part of your app.

Custom URLs for AppExchange listings
It would be a great addition to AppExchange if you allowed public applications the ability to choose a URL for the listing. The end result would be a redirect to the current URL.
For example, I might choose "maps" for my Arrowpointe Maps listing. Then I could publish a URL like www.appexchange.com/apps/maps which is memorable. This URL would simply redirect to the current URL of the listing.
The current workaround (which I do) is to create a redirect on my own domain that bounces a user to my AppExchange listing, but it'd be nice if that URL could be within the appexchange.com or salesforce.com domain.
Trigger Assignment & Auto Response Rules for Managed Package Leads
Is there any way that Assignment and Auto Response Rules could be triggered for new Managed Package (lead source = "Package Installation") leads? All other automatic lead creation is done via web-to-lead (e.g. AppExchange Test Drive and Install leads) where Assignment Rules and Auto Response Rules are automatically triggered. For Managed Package installs, however, leads are created via the API/Apex, which does not trigger assignment or auto response rules. Salesforce Workflow handles most of what's needed, but it makes it inconsistent with the way other leads are processed and there are tiny nuances to workflow (e.g. emails sent are not auto created as activities) that make it less convenient than Assignment & Auto Response Rules.
I understand the need to have License Manager login to the org to setup the data since you need to be certain that a Lead exists before linking a License Record to it. I am hoping, however, that Salesforce could use some behind-the-scenes trickery to make it so Assignment & Auto Response Rules are invoked in this circumstance.
Custom Login Page and URL
As partners increasingly develop applications for a variety of industries and Salesforce becomes more of a platform than a CRM system, the need for alternative domain names and login pages increases.
OEM and other Partners should have the ability to provide a unique login URL, for example http://www.DentalPracticeManagement.com, for their application instances.
Customization would involve the following:
+ Go to Setup/Customize/[Some Sub-menu]
+ Enter the preferred login URL for your Salesforce instance.
+ Follow directions for updating DNS (much like Google guides users to setup Google Premier Apps).
+ Validate DNS settings are correct via one-click process
Some additional nice to haves:
+ Unique co-branding of landing page. Such as "Welcome to Dental Care .com, powered by Salesforce.com"
+ Ability to upload/display logo on Salesforce login page.

Secure Coding Guidlelines
Would be great, as a buyer of plug-ins to salesforce.com, for the developers to have guidelines and baseline training on writing secure code.

Make "Sales Pricing Info" field multi-line on AppExchange listing
It'd be nice if the AppExchange listing allowed the Sales Pricing Info field to be multi-line so that we can make the pricing information easy to read when it requires a little more explanation.
