After creating the fields you require and saving them, the page layout to load automatically so we place the fields to the position that is suitable for ourself.
Better access to all tags in content
While I know the tag cloud is limited to the 29 most relevant tags to keep the cloud from getting too busy, it would be great to have a way to quickly navigate to a specific area of the tag cloud. I think this could be accomplished using letter-links to a tag cloud for each specific letter. The secondary tag cloud could show all tags for that start with that specific letter, to ensure you could find the tag you were looking for, and because it is a drill down tag cloud, I think showing a large volume of tags would be appropriate.
Is Null and Is Not Null Filter Operators
When looking for blank fields in reports or views it would be nice to have a null operator.
Ability to search within a view
Since there is a limitation on the search layout page of 10 fields that is a global setting. It would be nice to be able to create a view with the columns you need and then be able to search for an account just within that view. This way users can add whatever columns they need to the result set.
Change Calendar User
The change calendar user function is not very user friendly today. There are a lot of clicks to get to the user that you want to change to and for users that may have the same 4 or 5 teammates that they want to view all the time, the process can be time consuming.
It would be nice if the user could define a set of users that they would like to access calendars for (like a user pref setting or something) and have quick links or a dropdown list to select from rather than having to do a lookup each time.
Sort/Group Long Text Fields
My org relies heavily on Long Text fields for ongoing prospect/client notation. My users need to be able to sort their lists by those records that already have data in these fields.
It is not important that this solution alphabetize the records according to what data has been entered; they just need to be able to get to the records with notes first. This is more like a "grouping" solution.
The ability to use Long Text fields in formulas, even in a reduced capacity, would be an enormous help.
Ability to search Views
It would be nice if we had he ability to search directly against a view that we have created. This way, we would not have to create/edit separate views for every particular way we want to slice information. We could just open a view and search through the current result for a more refined data set.
Available Queue Objects
It would be nice if we could creat Task Queues. We are looking to create tasks for an approval process that is managed at a group level and not a individual level. If these tasks could be available in a Queue, users could just pick and complete them as necessary.
Firefox search plugin
I was looking for a SalesForce search plugin for Firefox and since I couldn't find one, I made one. Is there a good place to post this?
Look up results
Why Look up button displays last 10or more items not related to the Account you are working on, when instead it should display the contents pertaining only to the active account. If you are creating a task and want to relate it to opportunity look up field should only display opportunities for that account (of course with the option of searching another opp. if desired).
Also when trying to find a contact through lookup field only contacts from that account should be displayed. There are many people with the same name, and many opportunities named the same way so this would really make it easier.
Searching - Formula Searching
It would be great to be able to input custom search functions into the standard SFDC search utility. Associating symbols ("-", "&") with search functions ("not", "and") would empower SFDC's standard search capability substantially. I know that we can use reports but we shouldn't have to if we are talking about locating records on the fly.
Advanced Find - Complex "Or" Searching
For such an amazing platform SFDC's general search capabilities could use some buffing.
For instance, it would be create if we could have a standard search function that allows users to construct complex search queries with "And" AND "Or" parameters. Additionally, the ability to group a set of criteria together (In Parenthesis) would further enhance this function.
