Salesforce IdeaExchange
Api access for common Salesforce to Salesforce actions
We're thinking of extending all the common S2S actions - including sharing records with business partners using Salesforce CRM and stop sharing records based on specific business criteria (e.g. geography, deal size). Using this feature, customers could create APex triggers or use the data loader/excel connector and automatically share 1000s of records with other salesforce.com customers. What do you think. Do you see any benefit in this feature?
Share Opportunity Products using Salesforce to Salesforce
A common use case in the Hi-tech industry is for partners to add products on a shared opportunity or when registering a deal with a vendor. We've often heard the requirement that partners want the most updated product details and sku's from the vendor. Currently, S2S does not support Products and Opportunity Products. Do you think s2s should support this use case?
Salesforce to Salesforce - Customize Email Templates.
It would be great if the invite to share a particular lead/opportunity etc could be customized to include additional information.
i.e.
George shared a lead with you.
<lead>
<lead>
Partner Role Validation Rule
As far as I can tell validation rules can not be written for the account partner role field. This field should be available for validation rules.

Help texts customizable by profile
The help texts are useful feature, however for a large Salesforce.com user community, the use of custom and standard fields may vary from one business group to another. Having the help texts customizable by profile (such as making a field required or not) would be very helpful !

SMS-to-Lead
Currently we have the ability to import leads from spreadsheets, use the pre-built Web2Lead forms, insert leads through the API, or even write an Email2Apex handler to process an inbound mail and create a lead. What about a handler for SMS (aka Text) Messages? The scenario is highly relevant for managing the Partner channel, where we want to make it easy for a partner or agent to send us a lead... they can just txt it right to Salesforce!
PRM Portal Configuration - Increase page size limits
In PRM potal configuration you can specifiy the header, footer and login message documents to customize your portal. However these pages have a limits of 10k (header and footer) and 2k (login message). We cannot accomplish what we want to accomplish in these pages with these limits.
We have overcome this issue by including to other documents from within these documents. However increasing this limit is still important for:
1. Simplifying the structure of these pages (instead of including many documents.)
2. Add comment on/document the design strategy on these page - like any other HTML pages.

Report on Object Sharing
The needs exists to be able to Report on People that are shared to objects. This reporting would primarily be Related to Manual Sharing, as this is what needs to be duplicated.
The report would need to include User Information, Sharing Object Information, Share information. Ideally, it would allow for Custom Types in order to Take the User -> Contact -> Partner Account Information.
For our Purposes this could be manual Sharing either directly or through a Sales/Account Team.
We need to report on those people that have manually been added to an Object, so that we can A) Validate the correct Set and B) duplicate for follow on years. We HEAVILY use Sharing to Include Partner users on Custom Object to give them visibilty. Many of these Custom Objects have Yearly Version, so we would like a report to compare shares from Year 2008 to ensure that shares for year 2009 are set up correctly.
Sharing due to Ownership or Rules Setting are more at a global scale and not required for us. However, it including these shares, with the Reason they are shared, speeds up the implementation, that is fine. Then allow a filter to narrow down to the share type that the user in interested in.

Redirect to Opportunity page after Lead Conversion
Currenlty when a lead is converted, the user is taken to the Account page. We want the ability to redirect the user to the Opportunity page istead.
Especially with our PRM partners who always work with Opportunities, it does not make sense for redirecting them to Account.
There is a good idea for customizaiton of Lead conversoin page.

However my requirements are not exactly customization of the page itself - but to customize this process so that user will be taken to the Opprotunity.

Self Service Users Permissions
Self service users permissions should be able to be that of a normal user and then restricted. They should have access to view other user information.

Login as Partner Permission - Explicit
Unless you are a full system administrator you will not have the option to "Login As" for your partner users (either on the contact record or the user record associated with the contact). It would be great if there were either an explicit permission (new checkbox!) or add this as an included feature of the "Manage Partners" permission. Many customers would like to be able to offload support of the partners from the system administrator to the partner manager and this would give them the ability to help troubleshoot the issue. It seems as though it would just require a simple check to see if the license type is "partner" and expose the button accordingly.

"Partner Opportunity" ralated list
On account layout you can add "Opprotunity" as a related list. This related list would list all the opportuities that the account is directly linked to.
I would like to have a related list of opportunities where the account is the partner owner. Related list based on "Partner Account" on opportunity is not available. (Not to be confused with Partners related list).
