Bid/Proposal management by integration with google docs
Hi,
How about integration with Google docs/presentation for Bid/Proposal management.
The opportunity module should be integrated with Google docs and there should be an option to assign different sections of the Proposal to different users with-in the orgranization.
We can make use of the serach functionality(powerful) in Google to search related question which have been answered before.
In google docs/presentation there should be a way to maintain version controls, ability to assign section of questions to other users, chat with other user across organization (GMAIL).
It would be one of the most powerful integration and we can replace the desktop word processor which is mostly by the sales team for proposals/bid/quote submission.
Activities: "Related to" in SF vs. "Associated to" in Outlook
I really think that when SF is releasing new features that the verbage between Outlook and SF needs to be the same to elminiate confusion to SF users.
Can we either change related to in SF to say associated to or vice versa in Outlook. It should be one in the same being that it is actually the same thing.
Urls with custom labels
URLs are currently an exact representation of there values.
For instance if I enter www.salesforce.com in a url custom field, the label will be www.salesforce.com. It would be nice to have custom labels for the urls.
For instance I could enter
www.salesforce.com
as the url and "Go to salesforce.com" as the custom label. This would allow for links on contacts to be more clearly labeled as links.
This should be easy to add by making the label the value inside the anchor tag.
Something like the following...
$custom_url_label.
SSO: Delegated Authentication - Improved Error Messages
When users use the SFDC login page they are authenticated against their LDAP. Currently, LDAP just send a yes or no indicating if the users credentials are valid. SFDC should provide a way to manipulate the message a user receives when they are not granted access (a "no" is returned).
Also would like the ability to implement a max login attempts in LDAP, but there doesn't seem to be a way to change the failed login message when using SSO.
SalesForce needs better integration with Ruby on Rails
The current ActiveSalesForce Gem does not allow Ruby to make a good connection with SalesForce in the same manner as the pyax library does for Python and this is a huge problem for Ruby on Rails developers. (See also https://launchpad.net/pyax/)
With pyax I am able to process SOQL Statements through SalesForce very quickly (faster than 240 ms per query) however Ruby on Rails is not able to achieve this same level of performance.
Maybe someone needs to port the SalesForce Beatbox to Ruby (http://code.google.com/p/salesforce-beatbox/)
Freshbooks.com Integration
Integrate with Freshbooks.com API for Customer and Invoicing Data Syncronization
Package de-coupling of fields
When launching a package, SFDC wants to create all fields that would be needed. however, many times the fields already exist in SFDC. This effectively makes packages of less valur for normal maintenance and enhancements.
SFDC package install into an org should NOT automatically try and create a field. Instead it should be able to evaluate existing fields before trying to add. If a field exists (in form that it is expected/required).
Web-to-ANY Object Wizard (like Web-to-Lead)
Much like the Web-to-Lead or Web-to-Case functionality that exists, it would be useful to have a Web-to-Object functionality. This would be useful to allow users to insert records in an object over the web, especially a custom one.
It would also be nice to include Auto-Response rules much like Leads and Cases so communication could be automatically triggered.
Test Methods need to support testing of Web Services
I would be good if the Test Methods would support the ability to write and test callouts to external web services. Currently not allowing webservices limits the ability to have quality test code coverage and more steps to verify web services execution especially if you are working around the trigger and web services limitation.
Thank You,
Chris
Allow access to Self Service object in Dataloader
The only ways I am able to work with Self Service login data at all are to use the very restrictive reporting options, or use the API/Apex Explorer and cut'n'paste into Excel.
Why should this table/object be excluded, even from the "show all objects" option?
Assign Contact record type during lead conversion
Some time ago, the option to choose the Account Record Type was added to the Import Wizard. The issue is, that you still cannot choose the Contact Record Type. This cannot be solved with the Data Loader (as it only imports into one object at a time). It's possible to work around this by changing the Default of the System Administrator profile, but this is very dangerous when there are more than one administrators doing imports simultaneously. When using the Data Import Wizard, one should see a drop down that allows you to choose the desired Contact Record Type.
Do Not Call Registry Integration
I searched here on Ideas and searched the AppExchange and came up zero results. Most Sales teams need to comply with the Do-Not-Call legislation and can be very costly if they are not. What options are there for us to integrate the DNC registry within SalesForce?
