BUG: New Dataloader imports dates incorrectly
I've imported a CSV file with the date field, all records having the value "2008-06-30". After importing the data, the field in Salesforce shows "29/06/2008".
Surely there is something wrong here. Is it necessary to include a time as well?
Need improved HTML email capability
When I send HTML email to a contact using salesforce the email is attached to the contact record, as activity history. However, when I look at the email attached it is shown as text only, so no images/formatting is kept. I would like to be able to attach html emails in the same format they were sent in, so that I can look at activity records, open an email, and resend, forward or change and forward - just like I can in my email client on my pc.
Also, when using the salesforce outlook plugin I would like to be able ot attach email in same format it was sent in, e.g. keeping its formating.
Relationship groups available in Offline edition
Field Reps meeting with members in their homes do not get an accurate picture of the member without having person and relationship group member information available offline. Cannot assume that mobile will solve the issue as not all reps have mobile and some who do will be in areas that have little or no connectivity.
Add QueryAll() Capability to Apex Data Loader for Merged, Archived and Deleted records
We DESPERATELY need the ability to do "QueryAll()" through the Apex Data Loader. Not being able to query merged, deleted and archived records through the Apex Data Loader is a huge frustration for us and many of our Salesforce.com clients. I can't believe that there have been 13 versions of the Apex Data Loader released without this feature included!! It should be INCREDIBLY easy to add it to the application. Please do it before the next release!!!
Report Types for Mail Merges too
.
Custom report types allow you to define relationships between objects and then use the data model to run reports that pull data from multiple objects. The feature is fantastic!
It would be awesome if the same relationship (data model)was available to use when creating a mail merge as well.
Ideally, the data model would show up as another object to choose from when inserting a field for the mail merge in MS Word.
Promote It!! The functionality would be AWESOME!!
Presentation Preview in Reports and Views
Management should manage through Salesforce.com. We find that managers are oftentimes looking for a slide associated with an opportunity with some standard information associated. It's frustrating for sales/BD people to have to field calls from management to provide slides like these. In addition, we have biweekly status meetings during which our sales and BD peole are expected to talk to their opportunities from within salesforce.com. Again, it is frustrating to them as they are used to presenting information in slide format. It would be great if salespeople could upload a slide associated with an opportunity and if the slide would preview in the window when mousing over on the opportunity title or by clicking a button.
Outlook, Syncing Shared Contacts
We would like the ability to sync Outlook Public Folder Shared Contacts with Salesforce. Currently we have to copy the Contacts down to a personal address book then sync those items with Salesforce.
Thanks,
allow mass Mail Merge directly from a Campaign
Currently, you can only do a Mass Mail Merge starting from a List View of Contacts, Leads, or Accounts.
But much of the time, if you're doing a mailing, you've probably created a campaign to track who's receiving it. So why not allow us to drive the mail merge directly from the campaign, rather than requiring the extra busywork step of creating a contacts/leads view filtered by the campaign?
This would save a lot of time, and make mail merges much easier to learn for new users.
While you're at it, it would increase the usefulness tenfold if you would allow us to further filter the merge by one or more Campaign Member Status values. Otherwise, you'd be forced to always send to everyone in the campaign (or select a subset by hand). But it would be extremely handy to be able to do multiple sends for a single campaign, in which case we'd want to send only to those people who hadn't already gotten it. Best way to manage that is to select by Status when sending.
Email merge should work the same way!
In my mind this would go a long way toward linking up your communication tools (mail merge and email merge) with the structure provided as the best practice for tracking those communications (Campaigns). Currently it takes way more work than it needs to to get those communications out the door.
Thank you!
Thank you!
improve paging in Extended Mass Mail Merge UI
Thank you for removing the 100-rec limit on mass mail merge. (see http://ideas.salesforce.com/article/show/101856/Extended_MailMerge_remove_100...)
However, because of the clunky UI, it's still very difficult to actually do a merge of more than 100 records.
That's because the UI divides your View results into pages (each of which have 30 recs by default, I believe). If you select all the records on one page, then go to the next page and select all there as well, you'd expect that SF would remember what you selected and include all 60 recs in the merge.
That's not what happens. Instead, SF only remembers the most recent page you were viewing. So it seems that the only way to get more than 100 recs at a time into a merge is to repeatedly click the "show More records per page" link at the bottom until you go over 100. That's a lot to ask of a user.
And if you're mailing to say 1000 records, even if the merge would stay under the new size limit (doing labels, for instance), there's almost no way you're going to succeed at getting all 1000 into the merge at once. The UI is just too unwieldy.
Please revamp this UI to allow selections from more than one results page at a time. The new Enhanced Lists are a good model, although we don't need all the bells & whistles like resizeable columns.
Thank you!
Can we have a version of Connect for OpenOffice.org
More and more people are moving across to OpenOffice.org so it seems sensible that we should have a version of Connect which will work with Writer and Calc.
I would love to switch over now, but I cannot do so because OpenOffice.org and Saleforce.com just cannot talk to each other.
- At the moment, we have to buy MS Office in order to create mail merge templates and update any spreadsheet that is linked to a report saved on Salesforce.com. This adds to the cost of running Saleforce.com
- If a person wants to work from home on their personal machine, but like me they don't have MS Office, they (or their employer) will be forced to buy a copy of MS Office. This defeats the idea that home working should cost less.
Please can we have a Connect for OpenOffice.org
Quick Create Contact on Email to Case should auto fill email field
Hi,
The ability to "Quick Create" a contact from the Email to Case functionality on the Outlook Edition is a great time saver. But why isn't the Email field automatically populated? It's already captured by the Outlook Edition and requiring the user to retype it is totally inefficient and asking for data errors.
Thanks.
Aiden
Sort field list in the Data Loader
The data loader is a great tool. But field lists are never in alphabetical order (as seen on the left image). Please sort the field list before rendering it, to make selecting fields easier and quicker (as proposed on the right image).
