Web-to-ANY Object Wizard (like Web-to-Lead)
Much like the Web-to-Lead or Web-to-Case functionality that exists, it would be useful to have a Web-to-Object functionality. This would be useful to allow users to insert records in an object over the web, especially a custom one.
It would also be nice to include Auto-Response rules much like Leads and Cases so communication could be automatically triggered.
Build Email Template - Send Yourself a TEST Email
When I build an email template, I have to open a new screen, pick a sample lead and send myself a test mail template to make sure the formatting is correct and it looks ok.
Salesforce should include a button on the template that says, "Send Test Message" just so you can see how the mail will turn out.
Dupe Alerts
Automatically give warning message when you are entering a duplicate account or contact
News Feeds
News Feeds are a great way to keep up to date with your team as well as learn about other things that are happening in your organization. Living on your home page, it's a quick sampling of recent activity around the records that interest you, and a jumping off point to take action.
Here is some feedback we've heard from customers:
“A lot of times our lenders change the opportunity but you don't know it until you go in and view it, so I think this is really helpful. I would want to know if the account owner changed, or a contact was added to a company."
“The constant workflow items that come up: if a case meets a certain criteria, or a contact... or if a new asset is created, sales announcements, opportunities closing, new products. If it were customizable enough, we could push certain fields, kind of like a workflow trigger."
Are these "stories" compelling to you? What are some stories you would like in your Feed?
Ability to Report on Sharing: Manual, Sharing Rules or Teaming (Account or Sales)
Understanding what user type and user has access to records can be done by clicking the Sharing button on an object; however, Salesforce does not have the native capability to report on this Sharing. For example, there is no way for me to easily identify all Customer Portal users that have been manually shared to an Account, what Accounts those are - as well as what their access is to that object and other objects associated with that sharing.
Please incorporate into a future release the ability to report on "Sharing". Thank you.
Sort available fields alphabetically in views
When you create or edit a view, the available fields for display are in the order they were created in the system, not sorted alphabetically. This makes it difficult to find the fields you want to display. Please sort alphabetically when creating a new view or editing an existing one... and also keep them sorted when you add and remove columns.
Allow reporting on Approval History
We are using the approval workflow but need to be able to report on where all records in a given process are (i.e., which step, who is the current approver). Opening up the approval history for any & all records that are going through an approval process would give us this ability. It should be from the point of view of the object looking at the approval history like it was a related list.
Account, Contact and Opportunity Discussions
Email is the easiest way to communicate with your team, but it's also too easy to lose context. Either the message gets lost in your inbox, or you have the message but not the context. Associating emails with Salesforce records is a good way to work around this issue, but what if we integrated Discussions more directly?
Not only would it be easier to keep your notes organized for the deal at hand, but you're also automatically building a knowledge archive for the next deal. Searching and reusing that expertise could potentially shorten sales cycles.
What are your thoughts around embedding discussions right in the context of an Account, Contact or Opportunity?
Customize stay-in-touch form
Is it possible customizing the stay-in.touch form? I'd like to add fields to the information to be updated as Industry and No. of Employees.
Salesforce.com Certification Program
In the 5 years that I've been my company's salesforce.com administrator, my fellow employees have been able to obtain industry recognized certifications from Oracle and Microsoft. At the same time as improving their skill sets, these certifications improve their opportunity for job security, career advancement and better compensation. My salesforce experience doesn't mean as much during my HR review as my friend's Microsoft certification. And I don't want to be penalized for focusing on salesforce.com instead of SQL, .NET or Oracle.
I know that you have some courses available but it's easier to get funding for courses that are part of a certification program that a stand alone course. And how about a self study option for some of the classroom courses?
Salesforce has a certification program for partner companies but how about one for the system administrators that actually make your product work for your customers?
Thanks.

Support Page Headers and Footers in PDF Page Render
When creating a VisualForce page that is intended for output as PDF, it would be extremely useful to be able to set some component of HTML/CSS/Image or other formatting to be a 'header' or 'footer' that would appear on every page of the rendered PDF.
For example, if you are creating an Invoice document in Visualforce, and the document spans to multiple pages, you may want to put the Invoice # or other data from Salesforce at the top of every page.
Similarly, if you are outputting a report format via PDF, it would be great to have the column headers from a dataTable or similar tag repeated on each page.
Currently, there is no great way to identify when and where a dynamic set of data will split into a new page. Although the CSS @page functionality helps, it does not appear to be fully implemented to point of being able to flow content into a div or other format-able structure. Perhaps an Apex <pageheader> and <pagefooter> tag that would apply for PDF rendering would be the best option.
