Mark Reports with the Report Type that Created it
With so many Standard and Custom Report Types it can be extremely difficult to teach users how to "fish" and create reports for themselves. Have you ever tried troubleshooting a report someone has handed you when you have no idea which report type they started with? Let's make it simple and put the name of the report type somewhere in the report wizard, or at the very least on each report.
Yeah, I know, you could just send the example report to everyone and their Uncles, letting them deal with it. But really, wouldn't it be better to let them see the report type and say, "Okay, so THIS report type ain't got the fields I need."
Report Filters Should Be Able To Compare Fields To Each Other
Instead of just being able to compare fields to values, there should be a way to compare them to other fields. For instance, if "Amount is great than Annual Amount" (Custom field). As opposed to just "Amount is great than 'some value'"
Smart "Customize" Button on Reports
Create a dropdown that makes it easy to jump to any step in the Report Wizard.
Scheduled emailing of reports
I'd like SFDC to be able to email Printable View reports on a scheduled basis. For example, instead of our CEO needing to log into SFDC (and needing to pay for a license), I could simply have the system send him daily or weekly reports via email. The reports would be in the existing Printable View format. Otherwise, we have people who spend an inordinate amount of time simply running and sending reports to various managers and executives each week.
Increase number of Analytic Snapshot records
Extend Analytic Snapshot capabilities beyond 2000 records. For larger organizations, 2000 records can be very limiting.
Twisties in Reports
When working with a matrix report I frequently use the "hide details" and "show details" button. It would be wonderful if that could be easy to toggle through. Perhaps I want to expand a particular section to reveal the details, while leaving the others hidden. If the reports included "twistie" abilities similar to what we have on the page layouts, it would save a lot of time.
Scheduled and Emailed Reports & Dashboards
I want the ability to schedule the refresh of a dashboard or a report.
The report results would be stored (so users can see the refreshed report online immediately).
Also, the Report or Dashboard could be scheduled for delivery by email to specified users or groups.
Replace Dashboard Running User with Dashboard Running Territory
As we are now moving users to Territory hierarchy we would like to increase the use of dashboards for managment. As some managers have proxy access to higher territories (country level) it is quite a challenge to select a user to limit the data. It would be more effective if the running user were changed to running territory.
Freeze Column Headers in Reports
Issue: When viewing and scrolling down in a report with multiple rows, the data column header disappears.
Solution: It would be nice to allow some type of functionality that freezes the data column header so when a user scrolls down to the bottom of the report, the column header stays in place and only the data rows move.
In Excel, this is overcome by freezing the columns under Windows>Freeze Panes
Org Utilization Reports
It would be great to be able to report on utilization of an org in terms of what features we are using but to the specific level for example of how many workflows, how many custom objects, how may sharing rules, custom fields on each object, etc...
Let us customize which fields appear on standard report types
With the release of Summer '07, we're able to create custom report types with the added bonus of being able to remove "fields" for increased customization.
Wouldn't it be great if we could do the same to customize the standard report types Salesforce.com offers?
Mass Delete Reports
Can you add the ability to mass delete reports? Or the ability to delete a whole folder of reports, without having to delete each and everyone before hand.
