New Calendar
New calendar functionality is planned for Winter ’07. The calendar features a graphical interface for weekly, monthly, or daily activities. New hover functionality lets users mouse over any activity in the calendar to show the details for the activity. The calendar will let users and teams collaborate more effectively in planning their activities.
Mass Update Quotas (Winter '07)
We as organisation with a large number of sales people I'd love the ability to be able to mass update users quotas using dataloader, this would save so much time.
Any thoughts or work arounds?
Clone Views
It would be very helpful to be able to clone a view when creating a new one. Often the column layout remains the same, but the criteria changes from view to view or vice versa.
Mass update records in any object from view
It would be nice to have the ability to mass update records in a view page without having to edit each record individually. Ron Hess did a great job of this with the "Mass Update Opportunities" App on the AppExchange. I like this so much I want to enable it for any object. This would be great for mass editing lead statuses, cases, assets, etc.
Package Record Types
It would be great if AppExchange packages included record types.
Allow editing of Text Version of HTML Email Template before sending
Currently when using an HTML email template to send an email as a one-off from a Contact, Account, etc. record the User can edit the HTML version to customize/personalize it. However, the Text version of that HTML template is not editable. This can cause a problem when the person that receives the email is using a Text only device such as a Blackberry or an email client set to show the Text version.
When sending a one-off email the process should allow the User to edit both the HTML and Text versions of an HTML email template before sending, either by displaying the Text version at the bottom of the current page that allows the User to edit the HTML version or by adding a button to edit the Text version similar to the buttons available when editing an HTML template.
New Call Center CTI
With Winter ’07, Salesforce.com plans to deliver a new computer telephony integration (CTI) solution to seamlessly integrate call center products from vendors such as Cisco, Nortel, Avaya, Alcatel, Genesys and others. With a fully integrated softphone, automated call logging, and configurable layout, sales people, call center agents and outbound telesales agents will be more efficient than ever in accessing information and placing calls.

Right now I'm researching hundreds of prospects we have in Salesforce. I have to look at every one of their websites. It would be a great time saver if either automatically, or there was an option to click on the prospect website link in the reports view and have their site open up in a new window.
Also, it would be helpful to access accounts in a new window without having to leave the report. I've also been right clicking and opening a new window of Salesforce to make account changes/updates.
Queues on Custom Objects (Winter '07)
With Winter '07, you can now use queues to help your organization manage the distribution of custom object records. When a custom object record is created, assign it to a queue so that the users who belong to the queue can access it and take ownership of it as appropriate. Also, you can use the new workflow capabilities to automatically assign new records to a queue. No longer are you limited to Leads and Cases – now queues are available on all custom objects.
Default Value for Custom Fields (Released Winter '07)
I would like to be able to set a fefault value for custom fields. For example, I added a field named "Number of Levels" and I would like to default it to 1 (with a minimum value of 1, but that is another issue). I don;t think I can do this now.
Clone Validation Rules (Winter '07)
Being able to clone validation rules would save lots of time.
Be able to use 'List Price' filed in a formula (to calculate discounts!!) (Winter '07)
I just found out that you cannot use 'List Price' field in a formula. This would be a basic field to use to calculate discounts! You can only calculate discounts using the Custom Summary Formulas in reports.
