Automate the integration of 2 SFDC Instances
I work for a company that have regular M&A activities and have found that the majority of our recent acquisitions are also SFDC customers. In integrating the acquired companies SFDC instance with our own we tend to make the rules up as we go (often depending on the size of the instance to be integrated).
I'd like to see some automation of this process, perhaps starting with some standard templates for data migration but ideally with some functionality/tools to allow easy integration of core data, processes, workflows etc.
I could see this being a source of competitive advantage to SFDC as well as, if our recent experience is anything to go by, ease of integration could become a selling point to CIO's of small to medium companies who see themselves as potential acquisition targets in the future.
Task list in partner portal
Provide a list view on the portal home page or as a separate Tasks tab that would show a list of tasks for that partner user. Currently, the partner user has to look through each lead and opportunity to find open tasks.
Private Label URL for PRM and AppSpace Portals
The standard URL presented by the PRM portal is very long. It looks something like this:
https://apps.salesforce.com/prm/Welcome?hid=01550000000B12CABG&cid=0155000000...:
While it's possible to set up your own private label URL and re-direct to this, Salesforce should provide the option to use DNS to point the URL they want to use such as “portal.mydomain.com” to the IP address used for the PRM servers. This would provide a much better user experience and continue to show the private label URL on email links to the portal (such as New User, Forgot Password, etc.) as well as each page throughout the portal UI.
This feature should also be supported on all new portals, including the AppSpace portal interface.
Enhanced Workflow Evalutation Criteria
It would be nice if some added functionality was available when creating workflows. Seems the only time a regular workflow can kick off is if the record is created or edited. This is not good for "quasi" time-based workflows (i.e. send a notification when the date in a certain field reaches a pre-determined date - 2 days before X). It would be nice if a workflow rule could be evaluated at some specified time interval (i.e every 24 hours or every Monday at 7am, etc). It would be really nice if workflows could be evaluated "on the fly" (according to some real-time criteria).
Time-based workflows don't really solve this since once a time-base workflow is triggered, the record is locked and can't be altered until the workflow has run it's course. This is a headache for things like lead escalations (i.e. if a lead is locked into a workflow, it can't be converted until the workflow runs its course)
PRM access from Salesforce Mobile
We are considering providing PRM users with suitable access to their partner data from Salesforce Mobile. This will allow channel partners to work leads and sales opportunities, while on the road, from the comfort and convenience of their mobile device.
Allow Partners to 'Report' and view Dashboard - for their own data
A positive sell on feature for PRM would be to enable Partners to report on their own data by:
- allowing them to create reports OR Run reports themselves which are created thru' SFA
- View output through a Dashboard
Do you want to share Accounts with other salesforce.com customers?
Today with Salesforce to Salesforce you can collaborate on leads, opportunities and any custom object with other companies (e.g. resellers, distributors, vendors, agents, suppliers etc) that are using salesforce.com.
Should Accounts be added to the mix including Person Accounts?
Do you want to share Contacts with other salesforce.com customers?
Today with Salesforce to Salesforce you can collaborate on leads, opportunities and custom objects with other companies (e.g. resellers, vendors, distributors, agents, suppliers) that are also using salesforce.com.
We've been getting requests around adding Contacts to the mix. What do you think?
Report tracking for Documents downloaded
I would like the ablility to run a report on the number of downloads on a documents in the Document tab and who downloading the document. This would be helpful to find out what documents are being downloaded and what documets should be removed for lack of downloads.
Cases in PRM
I would really like to see access to Cases in PRM. One of the major benefits to a Partner would be to have the ability to log cases with Tech Support directly from their PRM. There has got to be more benefits to a Partner than to get their leads and report pipeline - otherwise they will never log on and the PRM is loosing the attraction compared to the cost involved implementing this application.
Thanks
Annie
Do you want to share Cases with other salesforce.com customers?
Today with Salesforce to Salesforce you can collaborate on leads, opportunities and any custom object (e.g. MDFs, Orders) with other companies (e.g. resellers, vendors, distributors, suppliers) that are using salesforce.com.
Will you be interested in using the above service to collaborate on cases with third-party agents?
Public directory to connect with other salesforce.com customers?
Have you ever wondered who is using salesforce.com and how you'd connect with them?
Now that we've released salesforce to salesforce S2S, you can easily connect with companies and contacts you know and then share data with them.
But what about finding companies based on a profile search or a set of attributes like type of company, vertical focus, market coverage, business need, location etc etc?????
Would you opt in to publish your business profile and make it publicly visible?
