Salesforce IdeaExchange
Prizes / Rewards For IdeaExchange Ideas That Get Implemented!!
I think that Salesforce.com should reward its dedicated IdeaExchange users with prizes for ideas that:
A) Post Ideas that get more than a certain number of votes (say, 100 or more).
B) Post Ideas that get implemented in a future release.
C) Users that are consistently in the Top 10 Users in each category (Votes Received, Votes Cast, Ideas Submitted) within a given time period (month, quarter, year, etc.)
D) Users that are in the Top 10 Users with the Most Comments posted
Salesforce.com Leg Lamps anyone? :-D
Seriously, it would behoove Saleforce.com to show its appreciation for the helpful feedback that it receives from its user base in a tangible way. Implementing our ideas is great, but thats pretty much your duty as a responsible software company. Offering rewards for submitting good ideas will help the IdeaExchange to be even more successful.

Show in Tell (code share)
Need a place to allow people to show what they've done. Code samples, away for users to show the rest of the community the cool things. This should be a place to share code samples, or other media links like jing by Screencast.

System Identification
This is the corner stone of the community to allow groups, topics to present them to you. The system needs to be aware of who you are, what skill levels (like the type of certifications you hold) and the type of user. However it also needs to have an area for your interest. --- In having such detail profiling will allow for pairing or matching of all types of different interest.

Self Creating Groups
Allow the community to create their own groups. These groups would consist of members that wish to be part of a more focused topics or connect with each other. These could act as the a type of topic group. People should be able to subscribe to the any messages from the group or topics that the group start.
Present not Search
The key to tie it all together. Once the system is able to identify us it then can gather information from other groups or topics and present possible matches based on those criteria. Just like any dating site matches possible dates this would match possible groups and topics of interest. Also as facebook works where we see which groups our friends have joined this would also allow us to see which friends have joined which groups. However in order to do this each group has to be profiled, therefore for those people setting up groups they must categorize the group.
Safe Harbor
eed to be protected from third parties always trying to contact or connect with us. Would like a way to set security settings on our profiles to allow vendors to contact me or post to my group.
Specific suggestions for Idea Exchange Rewards Program (Member Profiles)
Here are a series of ideas related to specific ways to foster growth and success in the Idea Exchange community.
-Create Uber-Members. Create a metric for those Community Members with an exceptionally high-level of dedication to the community. Members with strong posts, a good track record of keeping the community clean, making comments, have invested substantial time in the community, have bad-ass names (like mine). Let's give them the ability to put a boss tagline on their profile or have special profiles pages that they can decorate a little (like a facebook). Some sort of feather in their cap for all the hardwork they've put into Idea Exchange because it benefits everybody.
-“Uber-members” have rights to send Merge suggestions to other posters.
-Give users small credit for merging, self-editing their own posts (system will need to anticipate this being hijacked by users simply looking to hog posts).
-total demotion value by user resulting in restrictions. If a user is uber-spamming the idea site, perhaps a demotion to their account is in order. Obviously, GREAT care needs to be exercised when establishing a penalty system. I'm hesitant to suggest this but any community hoping to grow should anticipate members that have a negative impact.
-Show user 'scores' - Next to a users name, show their score. This should appear on their posts/comments. The best reward in any community is status and visually lending credence to a user based on their community productivity would be a nice carrot.
This idea serves as a
complement to these prior posts with other suggestions on the Idea Exchange community.

More media enriched content
Provide more content like podcasts, or interviews with Product managers around roadmaps, or developers on code developments and all that cool stuff.
Eliminate paper session surveys!!
I am amazed that they are handing out PAPER session surveys at a SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE conference!!! Also, it is sooooo NOT green!!!
Can't this be replaced by some cool Force.com technology?? Reduce the Salesforce.com carbon footprint!!!
