Automate the integration of 2 SFDC Instances
I work for a company that have regular M&A activities and have found that the majority of our recent acquisitions are also SFDC customers. In integrating the acquired companies SFDC instance with our own we tend to make the rules up as we go (often depending on the size of the instance to be integrated).
I'd like to see some automation of this process, perhaps starting with some standard templates for data migration but ideally with some functionality/tools to allow easy integration of core data, processes, workflows etc.
I could see this being a source of competitive advantage to SFDC as well as, if our recent experience is anything to go by, ease of integration could become a selling point to CIO's of small to medium companies who see themselves as potential acquisition targets in the future.
Appbar
The Salesforce.com Appbar, an Internet browser toolbar integration.
Leverage a simple browser toolbar integration to increase the end user’s efficiency while at the same time increase their ability to customize their experience.
Notifiers
Alert the user of unopened leads, opportunities, cases, etc.
Appexchange Integration
Leveraged The Appexchange developer community to create custom buttons and functionalities to increase their App's usability, accessibility, and adoption.
Search
Salesforce, The Appexchange, Solutions, as well as various Google Search meathods. Always have access to search regardless of what tab you are in, when the sidebar is collapsed, or when you are outside of The App.
Custom View Drop Downs
One click away from custom views of leads, contacts, reports, dashboards, accounts, etc.
Salesforce.com to Outlook Contact sync
I would like to be able to choose what Contacts are synced from Salesforce.com down to Outlook. Right now it is all Contacts that I own and All Contacts on the Accounts I own. I have some Contacts that I own but do not need to be brought down to Outlook and there are other Contacts that are owned by people below me that I would like to have in my Outlook.
The only way I can see to do this now is to create Duplicate Contacts within salesforce.com for the Contacts that I do not own and for the ones I do own is to just put up with having them in my Outlook.
Import Wizard for Leads
Right now, I can only use "Match Name", "Salesforce ID" or "Email". It would be nice to use unique record identifier that we have setup in SalesForce which match with our own Database when we import leads using the import wizard.
mail merge to PDF
I think it'd be great if the salesforce MAIL MERGE fucntionality had the ability to merge data into a PDF document with fields, not just a Microsoft Word document.
Allow Apex Triggers to call External Web Services
Allow triggers coded in Apex to call external web services, not just the Salesforce API.
We understand that there are issues that must be considered, particularly security concerns and the need for resource governors, but it should be possible to provide a reasonable level of support for this.
Synchronize Google Calendar with Salesforce Calendar
Google now has calendar functions. Synchronizing the salesforce calendar with the google calendar would allow us to deliver tasks to a diverse set of tools used in the field. Like cell phones.... It would allow customers to scan sales calendars to book time and we could tie that back to sales force. The google calendar can be updated from your cell phone. That in turn could feed back to salesforce. This is way cool technology !
Officially Support and Update the Excel Connector
Just about anyone who uses Salesforce.com extensively or manages a lot of data in Salesforce.com finds the Excel Connector to be an INVALUABLE tool, and crucial to making management of data in Salesforce.com an efficient undertaking.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make the Excel Connector a FREE and SUPPORTED desktop application, perhaps even integrated with the "Connect for Office" application. Also, please allow one version of the Excel Connector to support all editions of Salesforce.com (Group, Professional, Enterprise, etc.). With so many of your customers relying on this application to manage their Salesforce.com data, it is detrimental to your customer satisfaction ratings to not officially support and update the Excel Connector.
Salesforce Mobile Support for Apple iPhone
Please develop Salesforce Mobile support for the Apple iPhone using the integration features that Apple just announced at WWDC
http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2007/06/11iphone.html< Initiating calls
- Sending emails
- Display location on Google Map
- Create Calendar entries
Integrate Google Chart Gadgets Into Reports and Dashboards
Charts available out of the box from Salesforce today are somewhat dull. (Sorry, honest truth) I'd like to see a way to securely integrate some of the new Google Charts you find in Google Spreadsheets as options inside of Salesforce on both Reports and Dashboards.
While some AppExchange partners allow you to visualize your data through s-controls and their products, I want to see an increase in the built-in charting capabilities of Salesforce.
Get a List of All Logged In Users
I would like to be able to get a list of users that are currently logged in, with active sessions, both in the Web UI and in the API. As an admin, I'd also like to be able to log people out from that list.
