Cross Object Workflow
Do not hard code the Object (see above image) when creating Workflow Field Updates. Allow administrators to choose a field to pass based on a relationship (lookup or master detail). For example, a Workflow Rule based on Case would be allowed to have a Workflow Field Update change a Contact field for the Contact record associated with the Case.
Dependent page layouts - Dynamically show, hide, or make fields/sections required on a page based on data rules
There are times when it would be ideal to show different fields or sections on a page based on field data. For example, if a field for "software interest" is selected on a lead page, it would be nice if a section and/or fields related to capturing more information on "Software" is displayed. If the field is not selected, then this section and/or fields remain hidden.
Allowing greater customization on the page level based on data rules would make for more manageable and targeted page layouts.
Default to Advanced Formula tab in Formula Editor
When I create a new formula field, I would like it to default to the Advanced Formula tab instead of the Simple one. This should be an option I can set in my personal setup.
Adjustable column widths
The ability to quickly click and drag to adjust the column widths in views and reports (like in Excel). Should be able to save these view preferences so that you don't have to re-adjust it every time.
Cross-Object Formula Fields: Be able to insert related Object data into a formula field
Like: Get the Account name in a contact formula field.
Sort Activities and Activity History by last Modified date.
I think that it would be helpful if the Activities and Activity History is able to be sorted by the activity that was the most recently added or most recently modified instead of being sorted alphabetically. I do not care about things that happened 2 years ago. I want to be able to easily view the most recent info on one screen
Shared Pick Lists
I think it would be cool if you could use the same pick list in multiple objects. That way if you have a pick list in multiple objects that needs to have the same options you don't have to worry about changing it in all the objects.
Cutomizing Fields for Email Templates
I'd like to be able to create and auto populate a CC field with the email templates. Unfortunately I was that this is not available. Any suggestions?
Filter on Lookup
I would like to filter lookup view to restrict records return based on some condition.
Example: On opportunity screen, we have Accounts as lookup. When you click on lookup it displays all the types of accounts (Like OEM / Parent / Customer / Partner etc ...) I would like to filter this result set to show only "Parent" type. Condition may change based on the screen where lookup is implemented
Customize Error Messages for Invalided Approval Process
When "Submit for Approval", sometimes Message appeared.
We can’t understand why “Unable to Submit” with just message?
So, need to output which condition Invalided, and customize error descriptions by criteria.
Messages fixed ,so if over 20000 users meet this, to "contact" just one their Administrator, its crazy.
Salesforce has some huge orgs, and should treat those as new stage just like this situation.
We should work around this kind of issues with customizable messages.
"Fake" Delete: pretend to delete but forward record to approver instead
It would be extremely helpful if we could make users with certain profiles believe they are deleting an object, while it is in fact simply made invisible for him/her and forwarded to a sysadmin for approval before it is either physically removed from the system, assigned to someone else or bounced back to the user.
This is because more often than not users do not bother to check if any critical data is still assigned to the record, such as activities or even opportunities, or they just don't care. A lot of my users would simply delete records because they are not relevant to them, even though they may be crucial to others, or because it's easy to get rid of lost opportunities by simply deleting the accounts they are linked to.
Allow Visualforce page to display related list
Currently you can only embed a Visualforce page as an inline control in a page layout. You should also be able to build a custom related list with a visual force page and have it appear like a normal related list does. An admin should be able to reorder it in the page layout as well.
There are cases where you want to build a related list with custom functionality. For example, the Notes and Attachments related list on the Account displays Attachments not just from Account but also from Cases, Contacts, and Opportunities linked to the Account. If you wanted to replicate that for other objects, you're not able to and still have it look like a standard related list.
