Salesforce IdeaExchange
Idea Exchanges for SFDC User Groups
It would be excellent if we had Idea Exchanges exclusively dedicated to SFDC User Groups. I see multiple benefits.
First, we centralize ideas for our individual user groups and encourage member involvement.
Second, ideas could be shared across User Groups (like how implemented ideas were received) which would enrich the SFDC Brand experience and community.
Third, SFDC would further promote two great offerings.
It just seems to be a natural fit.

Change the Salesforce Support "On hold Muzak" PLEASE!!!
Could you please change the Muzak that is played while we are waiting on hold for SalesForce Support?!?!?
It's the exact same song that's been played over, and over, and over for the last 5 years.
I was on hold for over 30 minutes the other night, and I wanted to smash a Ukulele over someone's head when I was done.

Training Classes- Freebies or Assistance
I think it's a shame that Salesforce charges $4,000.00 for Training Classes then you have to pay $200.00 for the test. I myself can not afford the $4,000.00 and my company will not pay for it. So it kills me there maybe open seats and I can not attend. Maybe Salesforce should come up with a drawing for locals that if the class is not filled a few lucky folks could attend for free. It will only help Salesforce increase user productivity. For example, I post on the community all the time for FREE to help others with the program why not reward folks with a free class or Salesforce credits towards a class.

Salesforce Product Kit for Partners
As partners, its very hard to sell the add-on features to Salesforce.com when some of us haven't ever touched them, administered them, or been able to use them on a regular basis. Microsoft often gives away their entire software suite to their partners for a song, in order to provide their partners with the tools they need to sell and support that software. Salesforce should provide complimentary licenses of the follow features/products to their partners for free or very little cost:
Salesforce to Salesforce
Salesforce Partners/PRM
Salesforce Content
Salesforce Customer Portal
Salesforce Sandbox
Salesforce Mobile
Force.com/Platform Edition
one Unlimited Edition org for the partner's internal use
and more...
Many 3rd party AppExchange providers give free accounts to other Salesforce.com partners to help them sell their solutions. I think that Salesforce.com should do the same itself for its loyal partners.

Calendar Idea-Highlight days we are going to be out of the office!
I thought of an idea today as I schedule my follow ups. Here is an example: I know I am going to be out of the office on Nov. 27th & 28th. I keep going in and accidentally marking my follow ups on both of those days. If I could manually go in and Highlight both of those days on my personal Calendar in a different color I would remember I am out of the office on both of those days and I know not to schedule any follow ups for those days. Also maybe have the system not allow us to set a follow up on the days that we are out of the office maybe have a reminder pop up and say you cannot schedule a follow up your schedule conflicts or you are out of the office?

Expanded Graphing and Charting Capabilities in Dashboards
Adding More graph functions to Reporting and Dashboarding Objects - One in particular would be the ability to graph data on a double y-axis chart
Dreamforce: Provide power to recharge laptop batteries in sessions
It would be really nice to be able to recharge our laptops while sitting in the breakout sessions at Dreamforce, Please put chairs and power strips along the side or along the back of the session meeting rooms so that we can recharge our laptops while in the sessions!

Eliminate paper session surveys!!
I am amazed that they are handing out PAPER session surveys at a SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE conference!!! Also, it is sooooo NOT green!!!
Can't this be replaced by some cool Force.com technology?? Reduce the Salesforce.com carbon footprint!!!

BIGGER FONT on conference badges
I found the Dreamforce '08 badges pretty hard to read unless you were REALLY close to the person - the font size for the last name needs to be much larger, as well as the font size for the company name. There was plenty of white space on the badge to accommodate larger font sizes, so I think the badges could definitely accommodate it.

Let customers agree to Safe Harbor statement PRIOR to events
I was just sitting in a breakout session here at Dreamforce '08, and I sat through the introduction of the Salesforce Safe Harbor statement for the 1,000,000th^2 time. Then it hit me, couldn't I just be required to sign something online (in the Dreamforce registration portal perhaps?) prior to the conference saying:
"I have read and comprehended this Safe Harbor statement, and I don't need to have it shown to me in all the sessions"
then we all wouldn't have to sit through the same Safe Harbor statement shtick in every single session that we attend!!
You could extend this capability to other events (Success Tour, Tour de Force, etc.) to save valuable time in the presentations there as well.

"Penny for your thought..."
I find it odd that the very companies who pay so many dollars on SFDC licenses are also the companies who provide admin ideas to make your product, granted better for the user community, more profitable.
Compensate for the ideas your admins send to you in the form of license credit for high scoring, winning ideas or even old fashioned cash! Rewards are supreme. I might submit a gem of an idea for a dollar, a user license or perhaps a couple million dollars.
One of the founding notions of our great America is intellectual rights and I unfortunately chose to click "agree" and surrender those rights in order to post this thought. Shame on me...
Anyone willing to promote the notion that your ideas are worth real dollars to compensate for improving the machine?

Display Organisation name in Browser title bar
When using more than one Salesforce Org (like managing orgs for clients), it would be very helpful if the org name would be displayed in the title bar of the browser. This makes it a lot easier to identify the org when using multiple browser instances at the same time without having to open/maximize the browser window.
