Improve Performance of Outlook Edition 3.X
We have been using Office 2007 for over a year including Outlook 2007. The performance of the Outlook Edition tool is horrible. Maybe it is because we are lowly professional users.
Examples: 1. To sync... you have to plan to not use outlook for at least 5-10 minutes as it buries your computer.
2. Data files are often left open by SF causing a longer timeframe to reopen Outlook.
3. Adding an email when sent sometimes hangs and errors out.
4. Adding multiple emails to SF.com at a time is not an option... this causes a need to add one at a time hurting productivity.
I know Salesforce is competing with Microsoft, but the quality of the software on the desktop is killing the value of the platform.
Forum/message board as an application for SF customers
It would be really cool if we could have our own message boards in SF. Our users are always discussing our products back and forth and a forum for that would be great, plus everyone would be able to review the topics and threads (we could also use that as a training tool for new hires).
Add a Mouse over for Activities
How about adding a 'Mouse Over' on each activity to eliminate the need to drill down on each item to find what we need.
I can have 50+ activities with notes. It takes forever drilling down through each page to get to the information.
Include Quote application in standard SFA
The quotation application, previously made available via some JS code and now part as an example in the Apex manual, should be part of the standard Salesforce.com SFA application.
This functionality is vital to us, and including it in the standard application among other things ensure, that Salesforce.com manage updates and translations to other languages.
Recognise Asia Pacific Time Zones when uploading dates using Apex DataLoader
When uploading date fields into Salesforce using the Apex DataLoader, my date fields were imported less one day.
For example, 01/03/2008 (1st March 2008), gets uploaded as 29/02/2008).
There is a work-around in help and training however it would be better if the the time zone functionality was improved in the application so that the date imported is the same as the data on the CSV file.
Surveymonkey AppExchange Integration
It would be great if there was a native AppExchange applicaiton/integration between Surveymonkey.com and Salesforce.com. Please build it Surveymonkey!!!
Extend Metadata For More Setup Functions Through The API
It would be very useful to be able to perform some Setup functions such as
- create a custom button
- add custom button to Account Detail page
through the Metadata API. My current understanding is that Metadata functions allow you to create custom objects and custom fields, but not the above.
One area where this would be useful is in packaging an app for publication. Instead of asking the administrator to follow some documentation in order to create custom buttons on specific page layouts etc. - a process prone to errors and misunderstandings, the administrator could be instructed to invoke one S-Control which would do all this automatically.
There are probably other useful contexts. Can you think of any?

Case Management app for nonprofits
It would be wonderful if someone would write a case management app so nonprofits who wish to use salesforce.com's product via donation as a client database that tracks case management "treatments" and "outcomes" could have a tried and true template to work from instead of having to customize the whole thing from scratch which is time and labor intensive. Most nonprofits don't have the knowledge how to do it well anyway and either have to hire expensive consultants or end up not capturing all the data they should be.
Plaxo Integration through AppExchange
Being able to import leads and contacts to Salesforce.com from Plaxo using a native AppExchange application would be really awesome for users of Plaxo, especially with their new Pulse service that aggregates info from a lot of other social networking tools. Please build an AppExchange app Plaxo!!
SharePoint Server Intergration
Hi
we are a small company using sales force as a main CRM tool, but due to growing expansion we are soon to implement Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007 (MOSS07), are there any plans to provide a integration application for SF to work with MOSS07. If not this would be a great tool

Ability to query user table on Apex Mobile
If I have a task, query or Lead assigned to me and I now want to reassign it to someone else in my org. via my Blackberry device, the 'Local Search' list that is offered of [my org] Salesforce.com users is not complete and if the SF user you are after is not in this list then there is no option to do a remote search for the user you want. This function should be made available.
