History Tracking - More than 20 fields per object
I'd like to have the opportunity to track more than 20 fields per object. I really only track on accounts and contacts, so if the number of fields being tracked is an issue, let there be a maximum number of fields per organization instead. That way I can choose to track all of them in one object, or split them up among all my objects. Since I only track on two objects, my maximum is 40, however if I have an organization max, I can carry the rest over into these two objects.

Give option to remove "Always Displayed" fields from page layout
There are some record types where it doesn't make sense to have some fields "Always displayed" (identified in bold on the legend). Give us the option of what we want to always be displayed. I have custom fields to replace some of these standard fields, and in other instances, I just don't want to display the Account name for example.

When I'm cloning someone else's contact, make me the new contact owner
It doesn't make much sense that when I go in and clone an existing Salesforce contact, the current contact owner name gets cloned as well. The cloned contact should default to me as the contact owner. Otherwise, I'll have to contact the existing owner and ask them to transfer the contact to me.
There are lots of suggestions to choose which fields should be cloned, and owner is definitely one of them!
Sync: Reminder Time and Show Time As (Out of Office)
When I create an event in Salesforce, neither the Show Time As feature nor the Reminder Time display in Outlook. This causes confusion when I mark an activity as out of office in Salesforce but comes up as busy in Outlook. Similarly, if I give an item a 2 day reminder time in Salesforce, when I sync with outlook, it will always display as a standard 15 minute reminder time.
Salesforce should sync such standard fields when they are identical features in both softwares.
Forecasting enhanements
- Allow forecasting on fiscal year or calendar year
- Allow forecasting on any custom object
- Allow forecasting on multiple (3+) values/fields within the custom object
- Reporting using % achieved by year, month, week

All objects should be able to relate to all objects when creating a custom report type
When creating a custom report type for Activities, we can not relate it to any other object. Often an activity is related to an account or contact, and so when I create a custom report type, I should be able to choose either of these as a related object. The only way to pull activity reports with a contact right now is to use the standard report types, and there are critical limitations to only use those.
Allow any object to be related to any object when creating a custom report type.

Outlook 'Add Email' Function should list contact owner name
When I add an email from Outlook to a contact in Salesforce, it should display the owner of the contact. Several users in our company may have the same contact, and it is frustrating when they don't know which is theirs with this lookup box. They have to click 'View' for each contact until they find the one that is owned by them.
Either allow us to filter this list to only display our own contacts, or display the contact owner name in the dialog box.
Retain ETD History of Salesforce Activities
Currently, Salesforce removes events greater than one year old. This needs to change. I need to see all events ever-to-date in Salesforce in order to retain institutional memory and look at YOY data. Salesforce prides itself on the fact that it does not delete customer data, however it consistently deletes our events greater than one year old. We also sync with Outlook, so it deletes these events from Outlook as well.
Salesforce needs to give companies the option to keep all events in the calendar, regardless of how old they are!

Use Data Loader to extract the actual value of lookup fields, not only the ID
I think we should be able to pull an extract via the Data Loader to find the actual value in the lookup field. For example, when pulling a report on contacts, the owner will only appear as 'owner id', not 'owner name'. Same for account name, related to name, etc. This can be frustrating when I'm trying to simply view the data, because I need to convert all of the IDs to the actual value they represent (as displayed in yellow above).
Hopefully this will also allow us to create formula fields that reference an actual lookup value, not the ID.
Offline edition should be identical to Online edition
The offline edition of Salesforce does not offer all the same functionality as the regular online edition. Just like outlook, offline should have the same look and feel as online and simply update the online records once the user logs in with Internet connection.

Stop contacting our users with admin emails & invitations to lunches/seminars
Salesforce keeps contacting our users to attend seminars, lunches etc. and also with Dreamforce emails etc. The ONLY people in our organization who should be receiving these emails/phone calls are those with the Newsletter & Admin Newsletter fields checked off in their profile!
