Create a Recent Dashboards list
Over time, a company can develop tens to hundreds of dashboards, which makes finding the dashboards that you care about hard to do.
Usability would be improved if there were a dynamic list of recently accessed dashboards, just like there is for reports, so I don't have to search through all the dashboards just to find the ones I like to view.
Make tab names customizable by Application
Tabs are re-nameable, but users in different user groups may have a great use for a single tab but each group still has to share tab names.
In many industry and departmental examples, salesforce could better serve them if tabs names would depend on which application the user was using.
*banking - both the lending department and the investment banking division would want to use opportunities, but the lending department wants to call it loans.
*channel management - opps could be used for both deals as well as the partner certification process, but because of the partner portal usage, opportunities have to be called deals or opportunities.
*recruiting - opps could be used for the recruiting process, but recruiting is such a small user group they would have to use a tab called opportunities (web to lead could be a great way to capture applications).
Allow me to create public pages with access to salesforce data
If I want to develop a true Saas application, I need a welcome page, and a sign up screen, and an about screen, and I want to expose a read only view of ideas, just like salesforce.com.
Along another thread, I want to be able to put a widget on my website that shows my current job openings, as they are managed in salesforce.com.
salesforce.com's current pricing and security models do not offer the infrastructure to do this. technically, I would have to run my own web server, and hard code login information in to my page or widgets to query salesforce.com, and display it on my page.
Until then, I and other Saas app builders will be forced to use other tools like OpSource.net.
Fix text wrapping in Activity history view
Feature:
Please add a feature to improve the handling of long sets of email addressees in email/activity history.
Issue:
salesforce somehow does not know how to break an line of addresses at the comma or semicolon between addresses.
Whenever there are a lot of email addresses included in an email address line, for an email in the activity history, salesforce makes the view extra wide.
This makes reading activity history at times VERY difficult. (imagine having to drag the scroll bar left and right, in order to read lines of text that are 2 or 3 times wider than my screen! awful!)
Provide a free license to be used for each AppExchange integration
Every time I add a new appexchange app that modifies salesforce.com data, I need to buy a new salesforce.com license for that system, in order to ensure the integrity of the created by, last modified by, and other audit trail data.
Instead, salesforce.com should offer a free api-only license for each AppExchange solution that modifies data.
Improve Page Layout Edit screen
In Page Layout Edit mode, currently the legend on the right side of the screen takes up so much space that part of the list of Object Fields to drag and drop to and from below it is only partially visible.
The down side is that I have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to access certain fields = more scrolling, carpal tunnel issues, annoying feelings, etc...
Once suggestion to make better use of the screen real-estate is to shrink the Field Legend at the top right of the screen.
Make Approval Reassignment modify record visibility
Background:
*Currently, sharing rules dictate visibility of deal registrations.
*In large organizations working with national/international resellers, approval of a deal reg may need to be forwarded to another region that is more appropriate.
*However, this region may not have visibility to this Deal Reg due to sharing rules.
Ideal:
When the channel manager reassigns the deal reg to another channel manager, the new CM should have visibility to that Deal Reg.
Ability to make fields required/dependant in Web 2 Lead, Web 2 Case
salesforce.com makes it easy to generate the HTML form to capture leads and cases online, using Web 2 Lead and Web 2 Case.
However, to make a field required, the webmaster has to edit the HTML to add the required javascript. Additionally, dependant picklists lose their "dependancy" behaviour, which also has to be added back into the HTML using javascript.
This requires a higher level of web programming than just pasting HTML code onto the website, which impedes adoption of salesforce.com's features.
Ideally, the HTML that salesforce.com generates should included this logic.
Allow "All" to be a default forecast product family setting
Currently, while I can set "None" or a specific product family as the default Product Family setting for the forecast tab to show, I cannot set "All". I would like "All" to be a setting, so that I don't have to select "All" each time I look at the Forecast Tab.
Enable salesforce to track opportunity splits natively
salesforce.com should offer the ability to assign a "% credit" to a number of participants on an opportunity, which totals up to 100%. These are also called sales or opportunity splits. Today it is only possible with a custom object.
It seems to me that the perfect place would be on the sales team related list.
The main requirements would be
*that opportunity participants pipeline's would be able to report on their split % and amount.
*Ideally, it would be the split amount that would roll up into forecast
The picklist values for the task subject take too long to load
To the right of the Task subject field, there is a button that opens a picklist of commonly used subjects, to facilitate the process of filling out precise subjects with terms that are reportable (Call - Left VM, Call - Connected, etc...).
Please make this "task subject picklist" window open faster. I know it can be done.
On average it takes 5 seconds for this screen to load! This is not usable. I need this feature in order to measure my team's % of connected calls.
