Support for Advanced Workflow Processes

Salesforce.com currently supports the definition of simple workflow processes, but more complex ones requiring multiple steps and integration with remote systems cannot be developed easily, and require complex code to be manually written and debugged. Integrating a BPM engine such as Intalio would allow such processes to be developed by non-technical users.

Online Spreadsheet Editor for Editing Reports

Salesforce.com makes it easy to create reports and export them to an offline spreadsheet editor such as Microsoft Excel. Nevertheless, user workflow would be significantly improved if reports could be directly edited from Salesforce.com. Integration with an online spreadsheet editor such as ThinkFree Calc would make such a scenario possible.

Mind Mapping for Brainstorming and Task Management

People using Salesforce.com for managing their workflow need an easy-to-use way of capturing ideas and creating tasks for them. Mind mapping is an effective way of supporting non-linear thinking, and is available from online services such as MindMeister. Integration of MindMeister with Salesforce.com would allow the end-to-end process going from idea to execution to be fully captured in a structured way. Such integration should allow users to create tasks from MindMeister, and to get them completed from Salesforce.com.

One-Click Editing of Any Record

Currently, the Salesforce.com user interface is not consistent in its ability to provide one-click editing of records. Related lists provide convenient 'Edit' and 'Del' controls, but the task list that appears on the home page only provides an 'X' control for example. 'Edit' and 'Del' controls should be provided in a more systematic manner.

Integration with EchoSign

Integration of EchoSign with Apex Content and ContentExchange would allow any document to be signed electronically or via fax without having to leave the Salesforce.com user interface. It would also serve as an effective viral marketing tool for evangelizing the Salesforce.com gospel.

Improved Task Management

The current task manager makes it difficult to manage a large number of tasks, especially those that are "important" but not necessarily "urgent", and for which no deadlines can be defined in a meaningful manner. For such tasks, an approach similar to the one used by HiTask where pending tasks can be dragged and dropped to today's bucket would enhance end-user productivity.

Online Editing of Documents

Now that Koral is part of Salesforce.com, it would be great to add the ability of editing any document, spreadsheet, and presentation stored in Apex Content or the ContentExchange directly from the web browser, using an online productivity suite such as ThinkFree.
