Edit Contact Roles to show pertinent information relating to an opportunity
The contact role allows us to record the role that a contact plays for a particular opportunity.
However we also need to capture more information to support the sales cycle; eg:
-Degree of influence
-Preference (positive/negative/neutral)
-Degree of Engagement (meeting, call etc)
-Problem(s) they are experiencing
-Implication - what it means to them
-Need - why they need to buy our product/solution
Can the contact role piece be customised/expanded rather than having to create a whole new, clunky object?

Is it possible customizing the stay-in.touch form? I'd like to add fields to the information to be updated as Industry and No. of Employees.

Down Voting for Salesforce Ideas
Today Salesforce Ideas has the ability to vote things up. This feature would give you the ability to bury an idea (vote it down) if you don't like it.

Outlook "Associate Item" should auto-propogate Company Name
In Outlook, when a contact marked for syncing into Salesforce doesn't match an existing account, you need to "Quick Create" it. Why doesn't the Quick Create mini-window automatically include the name of the company in the Account Name field?

Release Notes for Connect Outlook (aka Outlook Edition)
Currently salesforce.com provides a new version of Salesforce Connect for Outlook with every release, if not more often. Unfortunately there is no accompanying documents describing changes, bug fixed and unresolved issues addressed with each version.
Concise Release Notes, similar to Firefox project, will both assist our end users and Salesforce administrators to troubleshoot and deploy this essential add-on.
Sample Firefox release note: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/2.0.0.12/releasenotes/

Personal Tags in Lists or Reports
We would like to have the ability to export a list in personal tags. Example: I'm tagging all the contacts that I want to send a personal invite to a reception in the fall all through the year. When it comes time to send that invitation, it's done by Marketing but they want the list from me. I can't run a report on tags or export out the view. That feature would great enhance the use of tags in our organization.

Pictures are worth a 1,000 words - can we have them on our Ideas please?
Pictures are worth a 1,000 words (votes?!) - can we have them on our Ideas please?
Without the ability to upload pictures, the new Ideas feature in Salesforce is not worth implementing in my company. Please make this possible.

Search functions that relate to the Tab/Object you are in
The current search field is cumbersumb - you have to select advance search & check which object to search from. Why the extra clicks?
Why not have a search box on each object page - that relates to that object.
For example- A seach box on Leads would search only Leads, A search on Opportunities would search only Opportunities, etc...
How about the ability to search on field level? We deal with banks which we identify by Cert numbers not the bank name - having the ability to search by the cert field would save a lot of time!

Lotus Notes Connector for Lotus Notes version 8
We would like Lotus Notes Connector to be compatible with IBM Lotus Notes 8.0. Currently, Lotus Notes connector requires IBM Lotus Notes 6.0, 6.5 or 7.0.

Make 'Customize Application' permission more granular
There are a lot of different types of permissions in this one tick box and it would be great if they were split out a bit more. For example, it may be useful to give a marketing super user access to the lead routing rules, without giving them the power to rearrange the whole configuration.

Use of "Permission Sets" rather than Profiles
There needs to be a way to make the assignment or permissions more granular than 1 profile per user. One thought would be to allow us to create "permission sets" and then provide the ability to assign multiple permission sets per user. This would allow us to create a set of permissions once and re-use it.
For example, on most projects implementing Salesforce.com, there will be multiple profiles differing only by a permission or 2. There might be a "Sales (Standard") one that gives the baseline sales functionality. Then the "Sales (Power User)" would have the same permissions + the ability to create public reports & views, convert leads, etc. I might have another one that differs only by the ability to Delete certain objects. Oftentimes, the result might be 5 different profiles to support a group. Then Phase 2 roles around and due to minor differences in what's needed, there might be 15 profiles. When you take field level security, page layout assignment, etc. into account, this gets complicated.
Bottom line is that a proliferation of profiles results.
I think it'd be great if we could package permissions into small sets. There could be different types of sets too. Types might include: "Application Permissions", "Object Permissions", "Field Level Security Permissions", etc. Each type would be independently assigned to users on the user page. A related list for each type of permission set would exist and you'd be able to give multiple permissions sets to a user. The user's permissions would be a union of all Permission Sets assigned to them.
Not sure if this is the best design or not, but the idea to make permissions more granular allowing you to incrementally increase someone's permissions would be a big help.
Thanks.

Allow the deletion of VIEWS
We currently have Edit and Create New View - why not DELETE THIS view?
While you're at it, why not list ALL views and by selecting a tick box, allow the deletion on MULTIPLE views all at once.
Many views are created on the fly and are needed for short periods of time - when it comes to 'cleaning up'.... It's ridiculous to have to go into EDIT and then delete.
