Use tag results in reports, campaigns etc.
Tagging is great!
But what about allowing the user to do more things with the results? For instance, add to a campaign, mass update, delete, etc.
At the moment, the tag search simply returns the results, which you can then click on. I'd like to be able to do more with the overall results.
Anyone?

Actions performed upon personal tag lists
The ability to perform actions upon a list created from personal tags, for example 'add to campaign' or 'Mass Email'.
Example process as follows; 1. Go to 'personal tags' 2. View all leads with a personal tag of 'Conference 2007' 3. Click a check box to add the resulting list of leads to a 'Campaign' or 'Mass Email' as examples. The basis of this suggestion is to enable the user to 'do' something with their list of tagged leads/contacts. |

Personal Tags - Mass Email Contacts
We love the new Personal Tags feature. The natural next request is to be able to mass email contacts filtered on particular tags assigned to contacts.
Would also like to be able to mass email contacts filtered on Contact Roles from the Account, Opportunity, Contract and/or Case record. Thanks! |

Report on tags
I would like to be able to run a report on or send mass emails to tagged records. Right now the functionality is useless for marketing but could be great by going one step further and allowing reports or mass emails.

Totally agree - tags are pretty much useless to me right now. I think they are working on corporate tags...but in the meantime it would be great if we could run reports using personal tags.

I also have an idea with all these same suggestions posted (http://ideas.salesforce.com/article/show/10088078/Personal_Tags__Complete_fun...) Seams to me like Personal Tags are only half complete and until they have the full functionality of a tag they are not much use. If nothing else being able to send a Mass Email from a list of tagged records would be GREAT!! |

"Tag" what is it good for? Absolutely nothing. (sign to the song 'War') I don't want my entire database when I syn. A good use for tags is the limit my Sync the same way I Tag/categorize my outlook contacts with salesforce.com. |

It will be beneficial for our company to be able to report on tags. Accounts with tags for example. |

Mass email of Leads based on personal / public tags would be a great feature in our company. Bring it on!!! |

I completely agree that we should be able to mass email based on tags. Reporting is also nice to have, but the mass email makes so much sense. I often need to mass email groups of people that are only "grouped" by something that I need to know, but not others. Adding the ability to filter by personal tag in the mass email function would be truly awesome & save a lot of time. |

mass email of tagged leads/contacts... echo echo echo... lots of customers ask for that.. it's different than creating a custom list view because the very nature of tags allow a user to select records that don't share similar attributes that can be queried... |

I think the public tag feature is a great idea that was executed poorly. We have been using public tags and were very happy with them until we realized we could not report on them. I know there is a tag "browser" that allows drilling down on tags, but this is only helpful if tags have been applied in the first place. If there are users who forget to tag, there is no way to efficiently report untagged content that and reconcile the data. My feeling is that any data entered into salesforce should have the ability to be reported on. |

I agree with most of the comments posted. You should be able to mass email to tagged records. |

I have just been asked by some of my users if they could print a list from their tags, e.g. a mailing list of their tagged contacts for a conference. They love the tagging and how easy it is to use and manage. Being able to print a the view of tagged records would really enhance things. In addition, would it be possible to export the a tagged list view to Excel like you can with reports? The advantage of tagging is that I don't need to create special fields or add extra functionality. The users can use the tags to make selections for things like mailing lists as/wehn they want. It would be an extension of the mass emailing or other enhancements requested here. |

I strongly agree with the need to report on & mass email via tag sets. Do we know if this is slated for an upcoming release? Amy |

Reporting and mass emailing based upon tags is truly the next step in tagging. In other CRM systems, you can create such tags or groups and then report, Email, merge, etc... on specific items that have no queriable criteria otherwise (e.g. special events, holiday cards, select customers, etc...). Any information on this being released in a new release would be extremely helpful. |

Mass emailing and reporting on tags is a must! What good is it if your users can't take it to the next step - Please, Please add it to the next release! |

I agree with all posts about Mass emailing and reporting and adding tagging option into query tools. I have to use custom fields to track "contact categories" because i need to pull them into a report and Mass email queries. Tagging is a natural for this. Thanks. Hope to see this one soon. |

Would be nice in the meantime to be able to create a view that uses tags as a filter so at least I can do a mass e-mail from that particular tag or tags I've applied. |

Another vote for making tags more powerful. The important ones for us are: 1. Mass everything (email, update, delete, etc) 2. Reporting 3. Syncing a subset of Salesforce contacts with Outlook (as per ThadKill's comment) |

Unfortunately, I have gone through the trouble of tagging a bunch of records thinking that I would be able to do some target marketing to each tagged group. I can't do anything with them. I can't even run a report to mail or email to them. I'm not sure I understand the purpose of these tags if you can't do anything with them. |

What is the current status of enhancing the Tag functionality? I strongly support it. |

Reporting for Tags is a must. If their is a marketing campaign that is conducted by another group a simple tag is essential to ensure compliance. Right now we are considering using a checkbox with a dependent picklist. Not the greatest option but better than nothing. |

Agree. It is a cool Useless feature unless it can have reporting and filtering abilities. If I tag all the "golfers" and then I want to invite them to a PGA event, I can see who they are, but I have to invite each one individually. Huge waste of time. I should be allowed to filter just like any other field. If not , I might as well create an unlimited open field called Tags... It would allow me to do the same thing but report with it. Example: Tag equals Golfer, Tag contains golfer |

Tagging needs more integration into Visualforce. Actually, I don't think there is any currently; only through the API. |

It would be absolutely great if we could use tags in the filters/criteria when creating custom reports! |

i really want to be able to do mass tagging. |

Definitely wish-list to use Tag values for filtering data to show in custom reports...there's no other EASY way to accomplish our management's reporting needs without utilizing public and/or private tags into custom reports. |
