Dashboards: Change Running User in Real Time

Our company has several hundred sales reps. We would like to create a Dashboard for each sales rep but that means getting the Dashboard right the first time and cloning hundreds of times. Any change to the Dashboards would have to be made manually hundreds of times over.

We would like to see the ability to change the running user on a Dashboard in real time. We would like to maintain security levels in that the user can only assign a running user that is below them in the org hierarchy.

An example would be a sales manager that has several sales reps. The sales manager can have ONE Dashboard to review and simply change the running user from rep to rep in real time right from the Dashboard.

Daniel_G-P 11/01/07	Even better, giving Dashboards the option to 'Run as Viewing User' would be so much simpler. Meaning, a Dashboard is run with the permissions of whoever is looking at it at the time.
Brian_Feldtman 11/14/07	Daniel has a good idea too but it's not exactly the same as what I propose. Incorporating both ideas would be great; the "Viewing User" concept works for users but the change running user on the fly would work well for our managers looking at ONE Dashboard for all of their underlings. catherine.mikkelsen@cloud9analytics.com 11/29/07	Hi Brian: Have you seen the Cloud9 Analytics Pipeline Accelerator product? The architecture is different. Cloud9 lets you have one report, and let each user view that report, seeing only the information for their user role. The Cloud9 solutions are "self-healing" also, so that any customizations and changes are automatically adapted - no manual labor required. Might solve the problem for you.
