Email Documents to Salesforce Content

It would be great if an email documents to koral. For example, one could send and email to "content@salesforce.com" with the subject "tags 1, tag2, tagn" and the document description included as the email body. The attachment would be the file that is uploaded into koral.

Scott_Jorgensen 08/15/07	Excellent idea! I use this feature with Google Docs all the time and it would be excellent to have it in Salesforce Content.

timbar 11/22/07	I remember that Google Docs / Writely has this kind of capability. The only limitation I see here is what if you have more than one attachment in the email? Applying the same description and tags to the document doesn't sounds right. In Salesforce Content we have a 'Contribute' area which is like a holding area for new documents that you want to classify and publish. Maybe having an email address for that would get around this. You could send of cc: Salesforce Content on an email with attachments and they are sent to your contribute area so you can publish them into a workspace later.

acv May 7	Even better... provide the ability to save content from MS office programs. File \| Save to SF Conent. Integrating SF Content into the programs we use every day will improve adoption. Plus, your price points are WAY better than other content mgmt systems that have clunky (but better than SF does) integration into Office. Same thing for File \| Open from SF Content. Integrating into daily workflow drives adoption.
thinkdata Sep 12	The upload mechanism is so cumbersome it is a MAJOR barrier to adoption by my users. Whether through this idea of an email-to-content bridge, or other such clever devices used by established vendors for acquisition, this is needed.
