"Unsubcribe" link directly connected to SFDC servers, updating the blacklist box field of a contact
An unsubscribe link to include in an email sent to a contact.
This would enable a blacklist management directly from SFDC.

This should be easy to create -- could be added as a simple footer and no different in functionality from REQUEST UPDATE feature. |

we've done that through our partner www.avendio.de I'm sure they are happy to provide this link for you. It's running on their servers but updates the optOut immediatly directly in SFDC. Works great and reduce manual entry to 0 |

Our company is starting to use the mass email feature in Salesforce.com. However, I would like to ensure we are adhering to good permission-based email practice by including and managing an unsubscribe link within each outgoing message. I know it can be added if I use one of the email deployment Appex plug-ins, like VerticalResponse, but I'm looking to apply this to the mass email feature within Salesforce.com at the moment. I would also like to ensure recipients who unsubscribe from our email messages are managed correctly and their names get removed from our distribution lists. |

email opt out function
I am trying to generate a report of email recipients who chose the unsubscribe option. Is this possible without going through individual HTML email reports?

Run a Contact report with the "Email Opt Out" flag set to TRUE.

Web-To-Email Opt Out (Lead or Contact) Form
A huge gap in the Salesforce.com email features is the lack of capability to automate Email Opt Out data capture like we can automate Lead capture through the Web-To-Lead feature.
It is crucial for any user of Salesforce.com to be able to include a link in any mass email for the recipients to automatically unsubscribe from any future email campaigns. This could be a very simple web form, or even just a URL, that would set the "Email Opt Out" standard field to "True" on Leads and Contacts. This is a requirement on many levels, not the least of which being a good customer service experience for the recipients, and especially legal compliance for the sender. |

I agree. Automating the current manual process would increase adoption of mass email users adhering to best practices.

I agree. I'm surprised more people haven't voted for this.

You can do this with the Force.com Email Services; you can install a free AppExchange package here. http://www.salesforce.com/appexchange/detail_overview.jsp?NavCode__c=a0130000... |

I'm actually amazed that the Mass e-mail doesn't have it. We use a partner for our large marketing e-mails, but our sales representative use the Mass e-mail out of salesforce. These are often invites to an events their teams are hosting and can look a lot tike marketing invites. We have included a link in the footer, but for one thing this requires a lot of back end work and for another it requires the sales represenative to use the html with header, which they usually do not. |
