See All Records in a View or At Least the Amount
Selecting a view, whether it be leads, accounts, projects, cases, activities, etc., we constantly click "more records per list page."
It would be helpful to have two things:
1. A total of how many records appear in a view.
2. The ability to select how many records you would like to appear on one page in the view.

The Show me should be a list box prompting you no of records to be displayed instead of having predefined 10,25 ....records link .. But really this is a good idea to be seen in next salesforce release |

TheBoot 05/16/07 |
YES please!!! This has been on my list of things to submit to the Idea Exchange when I get time... ha ha ha. This seems like it would be easy enough to do. I wonder why it's not already there. |

100% Hope to see this feature in next release -.. |

Absolutely agree! It is a very good indication especially there is a long list of records. A sum of the record count will give a brief idea on how many records in a particular view. |

Would like to see the total # of cases listed in a queue view
The only way to know how many cases are in a queue is to either count them or run a report/dashboard. Can you add a total and "displaying xxx or xxx" if it goes over more than one page?

Simple totals in all view types would be great - How many Leads, Accounts, Activities, etc in any particular view would let me know instantly the metrics of a particular aspect of the business (it takes a number of clicks and page reloads to get the same information from reports)

All our our Engineers have asked for this feature since going live.!!!! They used this feature all the time on the old system.

When running a "view", show a record count of the results ("view retrieved 1127 records")
When running a "view", show a record count of the results.
For example, when I run an "All California Accounts" view, in addition to seeing the first batch of results I'd like to see that "view retrieved 1127 records" so I know how many "next" pages there are. |

Our users would like the ability to see the number of records that are in a view. Today you have to run a report but our user base is much more comfortable using & working off of views. It would be nice if they could see that there are 150 accounts they need to work that meet a certain criteria.

We would like to see the records in a view numbered as well, so that you not only see how many records your view returned, but also see how many records you're looking at per page, numbered 1,2,3.....down the page.

Show total number of records in views at the top of the listing
Show total number of records in views at the top of the listing
When you obtain a list in a VIEW, it's useful to know how many TOTAL records are actually included across multiple pages. |

And it should also tell you how many pages there are, and provide hyperlinks to each page, like any other paginated system on the Internet.

When a meeting event is set up and others are invited, an email request is sent to the invitee as well as a summary to the organizer. I have not been able to find this email template anywhere in the Setup or Customize section to be able to make these changes to our application myself. Please, if you have a solution contact us |

This would also be beneficial in the search results. As you scroll through the pages of the view/search results it would be nice to see "51-100 of 1200". |

Please, please, please! On the face of it, it would seem to be so straightforward to show an automatic record count on every query. I've been meaning to post this for ages. |

This is one of the biggest "I can't believe it doesn't do that" features. Export to Excel just to see totals is waste of time. |
|
Rajiv 07/19/07 |
Absolutely agree! No. of total records and select no. to display. |
|
cspires 08/13/07 |
I am shocked that this is not already a feature! How are the reps or administrators suppose to get a top level view of what they are working with. Reps should not have to run reports just to see how many leads they have in a certain view! |
|
lingalonga 08/16/07 |
I can't believe this is not already a feature. Views are great but I always want to know what the total number of records is. |

Isn't it ironic that a simple idea like this one, one that is so obvious, gets so much attention and votes when ideas that are really essential to our company dwindle deep into the idea exchange, never to be seen again. |
|
Kissa 08/23/07 |
I really want this too! |
|
jiki03 11/16/07 |
Did something happen on this? It does not look like. Just have a look on the Google screen how it could be done. It is reall important to get this function. |

This user experience fix is LOOOONG overdue. I still can't believe that Salesforce.com doesn't do this. I don't think I've ever seen another website that handles pagination the way Salesforce.com does, probably because the Salesforce.com method is so bad. This shortcoming is really, really frustrates users. Can we get some feedback from a SFDC prodcut manager here please? |
|
TheBoot 12/11/07 |
Yes, I agree this is long overdue. I really wish that someone from Salesforce would take notice, and do something about this. |

Just wanted to give a big "DITTO" to the comment: "And it should also tell you how many pages there are, and provide hyperlinks to each page, like any other paginated system on the Internet." Our users are getting very tired of clicking "Next page", when they know the stuff they want to see is 10+ pages away. It definitely needs to have a standard: Previous Page |1|2|3|4|...|15|16|17 Next Page Lastpage Feedback, please? |
