Private Label URL for PRM and AppSpace Portals
The standard URL presented by the PRM portal is very long. It looks something like this:
https://apps.salesforce.com/prm/Welcome?hid=01550000000B12CABG&cid=0155000000...:
While it's possible to set up your own private label URL and re-direct to this, Salesforce should provide the option to use DNS to point the URL they want to use such as “portal.mydomain.com” to the IP address used for the PRM servers. This would provide a much better user experience and continue to show the private label URL on email links to the portal (such as New User, Forgot Password, etc.) as well as each page throughout the portal UI.
This feature should also be supported on all new portals, including the AppSpace portal interface.

This is a big deal to salesforce.com customers who do not want "salesforce.com" showing up in their Partner Portal URL |

Use don't have to use a long URL. http://apps.salesforce.com is enough to get to user authentication. You can modify your corporate DNS server (CNAME record) to point to this URL too. I believe new AppSpace product will support embedding of a login page in your own site (Intranet or external). |

We want this feature as well for our support portal. We have a link on our website to take people to our support portal (which is the salesforce support portal). Because we don't have this feature, our support department runs 1 entire web server just to manage that DNS/URL redirect. We would love to get rid of that server. |
