A User-Submitted Code/SControl/Enhancement Sample Library
For those who are code challenged like myself, it would be wonderful if there was a single, consolidated code sample library of enhancements made by users.
Think of the collaborative power if, as people created SControls, they could save them out to a single location for other's to peruse and improve upon.
I don't know enough to do coding by myself, and I tend to reverse engineer other people's code. I can only imagine how much more I could do to the application if I had a library of samples to play around with.

Agreed! We have heavy tech resources here at our company, but never enough to program in simple S-controls for users. We need some sort of JS like library available. |

Check out this AppExchangeapplication. It contains more than fifty easy to understand samples. You can run the samples from the samples browser itself |

That's a good idea. However, S-Controls usually have dependencies on custom objects or fields. Have you checked out the 'Examples' and 'External Mash Ups' categories in the Components category of the AppExchange? That's a good place to contribute or look for ideas. |

Agreed that the SControls would not directly translate. But, if you are like me, I tend to re-engineer other peoples code to fit my needs. So, if I saw an SControl that referenced a custom object and I liked the concept, I know enough to unwrap the existing custom object and insert mine. But, another component is just the sharing of the places and situations where people use SControls...at that point, it could get our minds thinknig and give the opportunity to provided feedback where applicable |

There is a small set of s-control samples already on the ADN Wiki: http://wiki.apexdevnet.com/index.php/Web_Services_API And anyone can easily post their own S-control samples to the wiki, you just need an ADN login. Absolutely I agree! It seems with every question I send to Salesforce support, I get a reply that refers me to Custom S-controls. I'm not a programmer! It seems as though Salesforce assumes anyone who uses the program is super tech savvy. Consider Salesforce administrators like myself who double as Marketing Project Managers within their organization of approx. 12 people. I need as much help as I can get. |

I concur. It is sometimes very difficult to find something that is close to what you want to do, and if you are not a coder than it is next to impossible to do it from scratch. |
