Schedule Emails to be sent on certain dates
It would be nice to be able to schedule emails to be sent to a client on certain days. We send out a series of four emails. 1) When a client subscribes 2) after one week 3) after two weeks 4) after three weeks. At this time we have to schedule a task so we know which day to send each one.
It would be helpful if SalesForce allowed users to set dates all at one time to distribute those emails, so the user doesnt have to create 60 tasks for 20 customers just to send a series of email.
Example: Send 2nd Email scheduled 1/8/2007, Send 3rd Email scheduled 1/15/2007, Send 4th email scheduled 1/22/07
The user would specify which email needs to be sent on each date with any attachments, but doesnt have to think about it after entering all the dates the first time. SalesForce would automatically send on the days specified.

AMEN! Yes - we have the same problem. We have to have tasks set to remind us when to send the follow up emails. This "Schedule" emails process should be built into WORKFLOWs and RULEs. Speaking of which - rather than having your users "Create" the tasks" which is more work. Create some workflow rules that set up these tasks automatically based on the fist action which seems to be "Client Subscription" It will help for now..unitl SF gets the SCHEDULED EMAILS idea in development. |

Based on feedback from others, it would be valuable to specify a future date as to when Lead auto-response rules are sent. If a lead receives a response 10 seconds after they click Submit on the web site, they can expect its an automated response, whereas receiving at the following day suggests it has at least been reviewed. |

I would LOVE to be able to schedule one-off and mass emails for specific dates, especially when we are running a campaign. This would save huge amounts of time and be ever so efficient. |

I completely agree and understand the inefficiency. I've found a way around this issue: my company now uses Vtrenz iMarketing Automation (on the AppExchange) which has the functionality to send mass emails and automated campaigns at a pre-selected date. It's great because once you've finished building an email, you can select the date you want it sent and a note shows up on your homepage of iMarketing Automation until the email is sent. iMarketing Automation is fully integrated with SFDC, so It's been so much more efficient than creating tasks to remind myself to send out the email. Also, if I've got a whole campaign running, I can just walk away and know that the emails will be going out as scheduled. iMarketing Automation certainly deserves its 5 stars on the AppExchange! |

This functionality is mission critical for all companies which have a sales cycle. It is also critical for any marketing department because drip-marketing depends upon being able to schedule future marketing message, esp. via email. Lack of this functionality in Salesforce is by far the biggest drawback for us, requiring us to spend corporate resources on other systems that do this for us. |

yes, please! ditto on SFA's comments. Absolutely necessary. |

Schedule Future or Recurring Email Campaigns
I would like the ability to schedule a mass email campaign to occur in the future for a group of contacts, leads, or as part of a campaign. It would also be great to set up a recurring mass email campaigns, maybe on a monthly or quarterly basis, to reach out to all new leads created in the past 30 days that are still open, for example...or to target contacts connected to opportunities who have received a proposal but who have not responded within 30 days, etc.

Yes - Automation of this kind would make a number of campaigns 'hands free' after setup.

To be able to set a date and time to send a campaign is a great idea. It would also be nice to ping closed lost clients months later with some type of automated message - eg: " Dear Bob, Just checking in. I would love to have you attend our seminar on widget manufacturing - can we schedule time to chat about it?" Through creative use of salesforce email messaging tools it could be highly personalized and highly effective -NICE IDEA!

You can use CampaignerPro or Vertical Response. Visit the AppExhange area for more information. I use both for these types of service. They can pull fields from the Leads and Contacts, but they cannot tap into the Accounts section. Hope this helps. Yes - would be nice if we can do it all within SalesForce.

My name is Alex Scalisi and I manage the SFDC relationship for VerticalResponse. I would be happy to have a call to discuss how to schedule out these campaigns with the VerticalResponse for Appexchange tool. You can schedule these campaigns as far out as you need to. Feel free to email or call me to discuss further.

I believe that it would be extremely beneficial to be able to select a specific time when salesforce.com launches an email campaign from within the lead/contact screen. Basically, it would allow the users to setup an email view and go through the current mass email procedure. Except, at the end, it would let the user pick a day and time to have that email blast sent out to the selected group of people using a pre-selected template.
This would help out our lead nurturing program and allow us to plan a campaign ahead of time. Also useful is an account executive is traveling but needs to have that message sent out in his/her absence. Thank you! Peter Chemisov |

Schedule email to be sent at a specific time and day!
I tend to do much of my work at night and would like to be able to set emails to be sent out at a specific time and day. This option would allow me to spend more time writing emails during the evening and weekend. My customers would then receive the message during business hours giving me more time to help them via phone. I would appreciate any information regarding this .

Great idea, scheduling of delivery of emails is extremely useful in many cases, specifically with mass emails and marketing emails.

I would like to be able to schedule an email to go out at the time of day that the lead/ contact signed up on our website. ie the time the lead was created.

Kerry, you can set up a workflow that sends an auto-response email to anyone who submits a lead from your website. Go to Setup>Customize>Leads>Auto Response Rules. We use it and our prospects love the quick response from us!

Drip campaigns would need to be part of this: http://ideas.salesforce.com/article/show/62203. say you just sold your customer a new home theatre, you assign the "home theatre customer" drip campaign to him and set the start date to the 3 days prior to his delivery date. first email: getting your room ready for your ht and a link to your websites forum on how others have setup up their hts, second email: optomizign the speaker setup and placement third email: links to some useful downloads: tone generators, tweaking forums, etc. fourth email: A kick ass drip campainging software would be very useful |

This is a great idea. I hope that the 'future' emails will be able to be deleted/halted in the event you no longer need to send them. E.g., I set up 3 emails to be sent to a client regarding an outstanding payment, one to be sent each week. If the client responds after the first email I don't want them receiving the 2nd and 3rd emails. That would be a very bad customer experience. |

Pretty please with sugar on top - hey number 1 programmer- "make it so." This would save me heinous amounts of tasks, time and would totally rock! Imagine how nice it would be for mass emailing, 1 month after a sale to check their happiness with the sale, a few months later with updates, or add on sales, a few months before a contract is up, a few weeks before. Dell has it down, would love to copy that model. Would also love to bring in our company more CA$H! Would love to work smarter, rather than harder! LetterMeLater, sounds cool, but still looks like to much work with exporting lists (thanks for the temporary work around :) ) |

Synchosoft 11/26/07 |
Hi, As in the case of lead-to-opportunity, even this could be automated using our tool optimizer for SalesForce platform. Would appreciate your feedback on the same, we have a demo of the above case you are referring to on our website http://www.synchosoft.com. Please do let me know if you would like to schedule a demonstration of our solution. Thank you, Venki |
