Get rid of "Sent using Salesforce.com" Signature
Salesforce needs to get rid of the default email signature that is set to display Salesforce.com's signature on emails.
NO CUSTOMER IN THE WORLD wants this signature setup by default. Talk about being customer NON-centric.
The default should be blank.

Certainly not this customer! |

And this one |
nmcconnell 12/06/06 |
Weak....leave the sales pitch on the salesforce web site |
bannister 12/06/06 |
And take it off the event record type while you're at it. |
Haigy 12/09/06 |
Each user should have the option to have thier own/team/compnay email signatures. |
Menefee 12/10/06 |
Same here. Our users won't use the onlineforms b/c of this. I'm in search for an MS Exchange to Salesforce.com integration solution. |
barton 12/11/06 |
this can be turned off already... |
Stevenn 12/13/06 |
i agree and have the same issue with the contact event invitations Similar to http://ideas.salesforce.com/article/show/25898 |
DBA 12/18/06 |
barton said it. If I understand the issue, this electronic signature can be deleted. Go to Personal Setup | Email | My Email Settings In the text box for the signature, just delete that line. |
byuhawaii 12/18/06 |
100% agree. Didnt even know this was the case until after I sent test to some leads. |
agluewvrs 12/19/06 |
DBA: Yes, one can go in and delete it. But by default, Salesforce should know that no one wants this in there in the first place. I can't imagine how many countless hours have been wasted by admins all across the world, training their users on how to delete the signature line. |

We are looking at providing a way to manage and update all email signatures across an organization. What would be preferred; an API to update it or an Admin UI where the email signature can be reset or updated across all users? |
Again_Again 01/05/07 |
Admin UI would be good (with placeholders [username] [telephone] [email] [job title] [custom field] {my static slogan here}. I'd also like to be able to pull a user report showing all their signatures, so one can follow up on self-edited signatures that don't comply with standards. |
E.J._Wilburn 01/17/07 |
Admin UI with the ability to set a default value for new users, update all existing signatures and an option to force all users to use the default signature (making their signature read-only), perhaps the forced signature could be profile based so that exceptions could be made. |
newmember 02/01/07 |
If the intent is to show the feature is available to a Salesforce customer, then maybe make it default to the Company that owns the Sales force account. |
KeithOakley 02/05/07 |
I agree - when sending the e-mail from a case, why show the case number in a header field, but NOT include it in the e-mail itself? It should be part of the default message sent. |
UBOATVET 02/16/07 |
I heard that !!! |
agluewvrs 02/17/07 |
Newmember: that's a perfect idea... SFDC can just take the customer's org. name, and drop it into the signature line as the default setting. something like : " ________________________________ XYZ Inc. " |
Cookie 02/21/07 |
Admin UI would be best for us. I like the ability to moniter what my Users are adding as titles, etc. Also, we want uniformity. |
jhbenter 02/23/07 |
I agree - there should be option in admin UI to set a company wide signature using variables from user profile. |
Scott_Jorgensen 03/19/07 |
I think an Administrator Tool that could mass update everyone's signatures is great. When the signatures are updated, they should remain dynamic. For example: [username] [telephone] [email] [job title] [custom field] {my static slogan here} Meaning, that as the user updates their personal info the signature would still be accurate. An additional benefit: if the marketing department wants the signatures to have a standard corporate component (branding, legal, etc) it would be easy to manage. |
umberto 03/23/07 |
When we first set up SalesForce I noticed the same signature, and was surprised to have it on my emails, but all you have to do is go into your email preferences and change your signature and that goes away. Not difficult...now when we train new users we walk them through the initial setup so they don't have that issue ever. |
cornerman 04/13/07 |
Please remove it! It is very embarrassing. |
Dee 05/11/07 |
It is a very very very ugly idea. Whoever came up with this idea should be punished. |
Luiz 06/12/07 |
Scott's idea from Mar 19th would be a great solution. |
bballantyne 06/16/07 |
I guess it's just Salesforce advertising themselves. The first time I knew about salesforce was when I saw that same logo at the bottom of one of my own suppliers' emails. |
AFroggatt 06/16/07 |
Salesforce should market on their own time and their own budget... not in our emails, event notifications, etc. It's fine to see this in a free version but not for a paid product. |
ccc0226 08/21/07 |
I agree. I don't think sales people will appreciate to send e-mails to customers with the salesforce.com signature except if they pay us... |
rpr2 09/06/07 |
I am voting for Scott_Jorgensen's comment from Mar 19 which has 2 components: 1) Allow admins to update user signatures 2) Allow the use of merge fields in the signatures |
Rasmus_Mencke 09/13/07 |
Changed status to Coming in Winter 08. |
jap 09/21/07 |
Rather than defaulting to blank, I'd default to merge fields i.e. Forename, Surname Company Name Telephone or something like this, this would inform users of the power of the functionality. |
NateD 09/28/07 |
Yes! And all the Salesforce branding on meeting invitations!! |
chopin 10/25/07 |
I agree let us have our branding you have already sold us and rely on us to create market awareness for you..........by networking /word of mouth... |
Daniel_G-P 11/12/07 |
So when will you be removing the SFDC branding from Event/Task invitations? |

Don't care if I am late or not, but I would have to say that the feature should have never even been released with the salesforce spam in it. Very bad. We never used it because of it and won't until it is removed. |
Scott_Jorgensen Mar 5 |
neilgreene: it was removed |
initsysadmin Mar 19 |
I was just helping one of our sales exec with creating events and sending out to invitees. The tagline was still at the bottom of the email that got sent. Does this mean it was not removed from Event invitations? |
initsysadmin Mar 19 |
FYI, it's also on the email that gets sent upon cancelling the event. |
