Account & Opportunity Views including Teams

Hi! I am interested in having my sales team log in to SFDC and having them see all of their accounts. I want them to see accounts where they are the owners of the account as well as accounts where they are on the account teams.

This makes so much sense. If I am on an account team, that account should appear in my view of "my accounts," right? Not just accounts where I am the owner.

What do you think?

ToddJanzen 11/16/06	This is a big deal. For Companies that work in teams there needs to be an easy way for the team members to see Accounts and Opportunities that they are working on. As a sales engineer I would love to see a list view of opportunities where I am a team member.
JaneD 12/04/06	We have exactly the same problem. We have instances, especially with large corporate customers, where multiple departments (different products) have a rep who manages an account. Some of these accounts do not warrant a single rep for all products so Account teams are required. However I would like to setup a 'My account' view for each rep in the account team. I can't even seem to find a workaround in the Views.
scotty 12/09/06	We have the same problem. I have 40+ companies that roll up into our corporate structure. Each account has multiple companies assigned. This is because we share all accounts across the US and Canada. If the "My Accounts" filtering in the accounts tab view allowed each user to see that accounts they were a team member of, the use of reports to show this would be removed. Some of the users have more that 2000 accounts assigned. We have over 100,000 accounts with teams assigned.
hayli 12/12/06	This is a huge issue for us. It would also be benefiical to have on the "My Team's Accounts" so a manager can see one of their team memebers accounts whether or not the employee owns the account or is on the account team.
mwest 12/18/06	This is a BIG issue for us. We need the SE to be able to open up their "My Accounts" and see all of the opportunities that their assigned accounts execs own. So, one SE will have a view of multiple Sales Reps opportunities.

jewell 12/19/06	Yes!! We also need the ability for an administrator or a manager to run one report on all the sales reps accounts-- this includes accounts that he/she owns AND is a team member of. A sales rep can easily run this report because there is a report filter option that says "my account team and my accounts". However, a manager or administrator needs to run two separate reports in order to get a sales reps complete account list.
Scott_Jorgensen 12/27/06	This is an excellent suggestion. I think the same should apply for the managers of Account Team members. If you manage someone who is on the Account Team, then you would select "My Team's Accounts". That is how it works in the Reports Tab and it should be the same in List Views.
AMartin 01/02/07	As a workaround to this limitation, I created a HTML section on the Home Page. In this section, I inserted hyperlinks to several reports including an Account Team Report and an Opportunity Sales Team Report. Users now have quick access to a view of their account base info. Hope this helps.
TimMadigan 05/03/07	This is becoming a big issue for us. We're rolling Account Management into Salesforce.com and need to have them access the accounts under them while still have the accounts related to the Sales Representives.
JenCalvert 05/22/07	We are struggling with having public read access but limit the sales reps in a view to search on a smaller set of data for accounts that they own and teams that they are assigned to. Similarly, the reports don't allow for a sample of both if an account team doesn't exist.

scarter 10/11/07	Yes, this would be great for my organization! We need the ability to to give our Managers access to only their specfic sales reps even though they share the same role as another Manager. For example, assume I have two Managers (let's say Manager A and Manager B) and both have the role of "Sales Manager", I do not want Manager A to be able to view data for sales reps under Manager B just because they share the same role. Data visibility should be person specfic, not role specific.

gnj 11/19/07	The "team selling" feature in salesforce is currently of no productive benefit. Users who are in the opportunity team have no easy way to see what opportunities they should be working on unless they are the owner and can use the "My opportunities" filter. Surely this should default to any opportunity where the user is listed either as owner or as a sales team member. Then a second "My owned opportunities" can be used to narrow just to those owned by the user.

jsmengel Feb 13	This would be a great feature for the account team members. But could be expanded on. We have national accounts and it would make the administration a great deal easier to create a parent account and assign the account team to the parent and have that account team be inherited by the children accounts below it. This would allow visibility without having to assign the Account Team to the children accounts too.

We use an Executive Sponsor program for our accounts and it would be much easier for them to view their accounts through the console if they can group them like this. It's hard enough getting SVPs / EVPs to use a system and anything that makes things simple would be great.

In reports we were able to go in and update them to a view of "My teams Opportunities" but in views, the only choice you have is: "MY Opps" or "All Opps"--neither which accomplish our needs. The only workaround is to make the filter "All Opportunities" and then go into each district and get the users alias names and add owner alias criteria to the views. This is very cumbersome and time consuming. Not to mention, we now need to create multiple versions of a view.

We have several thousand users, so getting every manager to create their own custom view is impossible - this feature would help immensely.
virago81 Apr 23	Absolutely agree with this. This is the way that good Enterprise CRM systems work: "My Opportunities" are the ones that either I own or I'm on the team. The only way to get around this now is by hacking or writing custom Tabs and S-Controls. The feature belongs in the base product.
ronan May 21	This is huge for us also as we don't have a concept of account ownership. Everyone on the account team is considered an owner so this functionality would help us greatly.
hennessy May 22	The Account and Oppty Tab is pretty much useless for the majority of our users until this functionality get put in place.
lr May 22	Critical functionality for our Organization. I'm very surprised this is not already available. Large organizations with huge product offerings use virtual teams as part of the sales teams and process. Without this, the Account views are useless. If SFDC wants to truly play in the large enterprise space these are basic requirements that have to be met.
happygirl Jul 22	YES!!! This is such a large problem and Salesforce.com could deal with it in many way having multiple Account/Contact Owners so there is more than one owner as well. They are really missing the mark because this impacts views/reports/sync. Please come up with a solution soon! This has been a problem at my previous employment as well as my current
wizax Sep 30	Very needed function in deed. The concept of ownership to a team is more and more adopted by sales teams all over, so this would just follow a market trend.
iwantwhatineed Oct 29	I am dumbfounded why this has been requested for going on 2 years now, and nothing has happened. It should be easy enough to program a drop-down menu for the account owner to be able to list multiple reps/account owners! Salesforce.com - please make this happen!
