Dashboards: better control over size of components
It would be great if we could have more control over the appearance of dashboard components.
Examples: I would like to be able to
define a base height and width, so that similar components all have the same size,
let "high" components span multiple rows,
let "wide" components span multiple columns,
add labels/titles that can span multiple components (this we can probably do with embedded s-controls, but it would be grand to have a simpler way)

For a good discussion on dashboard creator vs. viewer priorities see the Drag and Drop for Dashboard Editing idea: http://ideas.salesforce.com/article/show/26021 I also wrote a summary of some recent focus group feedback where editing and authoring was seen as much more critical than end-user viewing / consumption: http://blogs.salesforce.com/analytics/ The reason I mention these is that I'm assuming that this idea is an editing/authoring requirement. |

Be able to control the size (height) of components would improve dashboard a lot, especially if you have 2 graphs that you want to have in the same scale and height so that you can compare them easily. In our company dashboards are used very frequently in weekly sales and managment meetings. |

I would like to see several changes in the Dashboard formatting - Moving a graphic into the correct spot is painful right now. We need a "to the top" button, vs. moving the graphics up one at a time. Also more than 20 reports on a page would be helpful. Especially since in order to get a total on any report that you are showing, you have to show a separate metric report. So if you have a list that you are listing the total for, you can see that the first item has 6, the second has 5, the third has 3, but you have to "use up" another whole report to show that the total of the 3 is 14. |

It would be very helpful to be able to set a size on the components so that if you want to compare graphs across columns they will be at the same level. For instance, I have a dashboard where I compare 3 products and why we lost them. The top component is a metric so that works great. The next component is a pie chart of who we lost the opportunity to, and the third line is why we lost it (basically a 3 X 3 grid). Unfortunately the middle column graph in the middle row is bigger than the others so the third row graph starting level is uneven. By either setting height minimums it would allow the designers to create a uniform view for the users. |

I'd like to be able to alter the width of graphs, I'd also like to be able to alter the size on fonts on the labels for the graphs - you can alter the font size for graph titles but not the labels. |
