TOP 5 / TOP 10 criteria on reports
Wouldn't it be cool if we could specify criteria like "give me the 10 biggest opportunities closing this month" or "show me the 5 most recent events this week"? Since the dashboard components seem to have this capability, I don't see why reports and list views should not.

What would allow this and more would be to add a "rank" column. This column/s would give you the rank (1,2,3) of a column within a particular grouping. (report level, first break, second break) then you could filter on it or display on it. |

We're working on a feature called Top N that will allow you to quickly create a tabular report showing top or bottom ranked values. We're still doing usability testing for this feature as well as for Custom Report Types (http://ideas.salesforce.com/article/show/22239) which is the ability for administrators to create with and/or without relationships (joins). I am looking for a report that can give me the a specified amount of records.
For example I wnat create a report to pull all of the open leads of territory, but I only want the first 70 picked from that group without having to manually do it.. |

only on tabular. Within a summary it's much more complicated to show the top 5 in each summarized group - e.g. show top 5 for each region. We need to do some other work to make that possible. |
