After creating and saving a field, page layout page opens immediately

After creating the fields you require and saving them, the page layout to load automatically so we place the fields to the position that is suitable for ourself.

adminisaurusrex 11/18/08	If I am creating a batch of new fields, I'd rather do so all at once before I rearrange them all into the layout. I think there should be 2 "Done" buttons. One to take us back to the Object's fields and another to take us to the Edit version of the Object's Page Layout.
SFDC2admin 11/18/08	What if you have multiple page layouts that you are adding the field too?
alee2008 12/16/08	You should have an option to select which page layout do you want to re-arrange.
