Eliminate paper session surveys!!

I am amazed that they are handing out PAPER session surveys at a SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE conference!!! Also, it is sooooo NOT green!!!

Can't this be replaced by some cool Force.com technology?? Reduce the Salesforce.com carbon footprint!!!

Tom_Tobin 11/04/08	We tried the sms-voting last time, very few people voted. What was done this time was to avoid tying the survey to a session (so the survey can be used for any session). Maybe we could do a mobile-enabled force.com page so everybody could use their iPhones and blackberries to vote?
AlexCRMmanager 11/05/08	Yes, or scan their badges as they enter the sessions. Then email them ONE survey that covers all of the sessions so they don't have to write their info (name, email, etc.) multiple times. This would also give you very specific attendance numbers for the session, and you'll know what percentage of attendees fill out the survey! Perhaps you could put RFID in the badges instead of these maddeningly ineffective barcodes?
Tom_Tobin 11/05/08	There was RFID in the badges. Look in the base of the badge where the colored label is, you'll see a little bump in the back. Tracking was done on room capacity (there were no people with hand-clickers outside) to make sure there were no fire regs broken. So we could still send out surveys after. But after, people have forgotten - I think that's why the idea is to capture as people exit the room.
bluelane 11/06/08	Please don't assume that everyone who attends Dreamforce has a blackberry or an iPhone. I'm all for a greener way to track survey results, however consider that not every company provides such technology. Thanks!
fifedog 11/06/08	That is true for the mobile phones.. two ideas... terminals or remote controllers. Unsure if you could have a couple dumb terminals around outside or inside of each room. If it has a RFID tag on the machine then it could read the person's tag and identify them [have to make optional] and they could fill in survey via website. OR --------- have some type of remotes that they could punch in the session code, and their code (would have to give all attendees some type of number on their badge) then they could punch in some numbers... and wa-la.
AlexCRMmanager 11/07/08	Personally, I remember my opinions of all the sessions that I attended, and if I was emailed me a survey on those sessions I could give you all the detailed feedback that you want. (Especially if you sent me the emails DURING the conference) @bluelane, I agree, the mobile phone thing is too spotty and tricky to try to do. There was so little time between the session, that I bet you got less than a .01% response rate with those paper surveys... I still think that tracking attendees with RFID, and then emailing them a composite session survey is the best approach.
