Ability to search within a view

Since there is a limitation on the search layout page of 10 fields that is a global setting. It would be nice to be able to create a view with the columns you need and then be able to search for an account just within that view. This way users can add whatever columns they need to the result set.

Thanks for posting this idea, aaronb. I have some follow-up information and questions about your idea:

Administrators can choose up to 10 fields that users can view in search results. Users have the option to add or remove any of these fields as columns in their search results and order them as they wish using the “My Columns” feature.

Is the request here that you would like the option to have more than 10 columns in the search results display?

And/or would you like users to be able to choose from all available fields for columns in the search results, instead of just the 10 that the administrator has selected?
