Allow Rollup Summary from Opportunity to Primary Contact

In Spring '08 we'll be able to rollup Opportunity info to the Account in question. I would love to be able to rollup Opportunity info to the Primary contact on an Opportunity as well.

Most of the Opportunities I deal with aren't connected to an Account, but just to a Contact. Right now I'm writing Apex triggers to do these rollups. I'd love for you to do that for me!

Scott_Jorgensen Jan 15	If your Opportunities are connected to Contacts and not Accounts, can you share some details about why you aren't using Person Accounts in this situation? Person Accounts can act like both Accounts AND Contacts and they support the roll-up summary fields.
sandrags Apr 25	I would just remove the word "primary" from this idea. Rollup should be to any contact, that is, to the contact to which the Opportunity is attached.
sandrags Apr 25	In reply to Scott Jorgensen, Person Accounts have many disadvantages and the not-for-profit discussions have seen a move away from Person Accounts, since there are many complications arising from their use. In addition, I can envision Opportunities attached to contacts in the for-profit world. The assumption that Opportunities are always connected to accounts just limits the ability to tailor salesforce to the real world.
mattone84 Oct 23	GOOD! I have to update a contact field if an opportunity field change and with this idea I resolve my problem!!
