Allow dashboard components to show Grand Totals
Dashboard components based on Summary Reports should show a "Grand Total" row, just like the source reports do. It's a burden to users to have to drill down into the report (or open Calculator) just to get a total value.

Here'a a workaround: add another component right below your chart, selecting the type of "metric". Enter your source report, and for the Metric Label enter Grand Total. This will look like what you are asking, but will take up two of your dashboard components instead of one, and involves more clicks to set up. Good idea, to have that automatically - it would be a welcome addition. |

It's especially important if you are already up against the limit of 25 components on a dashboard becuase you're using metric-type items. |

Yes, I have been using the workaround (I felt pretty smart when I figured it out :-) lol), but it's causing me to bump up to that 25 components limit :-( |

Currently, you have to create another dashboard module just to show grand totals, which eats up allowed # of modules per dashboard. |

I guess this would only work if you showed ALL records not say the top 5 or top 10 records. |

re: maria's comment: I would like to have the choice when we do a 'top x' report - because in some cases, I'd like to see the total of the report, and in other cases, I'd like to see just the total of what's showing up for those 'top x' records. |

This is basic reporting, VERY surprised this is not available. Agree adding totals to reports using another component is optional but what happens when you reach the limits for the Dash?. Why would I want to use a workaround to a basic piece of functionality, that IS available in all *other* reporting tools. An absolute must in my opinion. |
