Ability to remove the "New" button from Tabs.

We use Tabs to find high profile objects, some custom. We do not want these objects created anywhere but from the Contact record. Dead center on the Tab is the New button which, if used for our schemes, will result in lost data representing many hours of work.

Create a custom s-control that basically just explains to users how they should create these records. Then you can over-ride the new record button with this s-control. The New button on the tab home page will then just generate this s-control you created. The New button on the contact related list should still work fine - allowing your users to only create the record from the contact.
