Web-to-ANY Object Wizard (like Web-to-Lead)
Much like the Web-to-Lead or Web-to-Case functionality that exists, it would be useful to have a Web-to-Object functionality. This would be useful to allow users to insert records in an object over the web, especially a custom one.
It would also be nice to include Auto-Response rules much like Leads and Cases so communication could be automatically triggered.

There are versions of your suggestion available today. Take a look at http://www.web2anything.com/ Data from a web form into any custom object in salesforce.com |

i agree this would be good to have as standard functionality rather than an add-on |

Self-promotion aside, Web2Anything is a good product. The same functionality can be created easily using PHP or Flex on any website. |

Great idea. Challenge of course would be how then would salesforce.com enforce licensing - if enabled standard web2Object, why have a license for the application? |

I have looked at web2 anything and considered using it last year but abandoned the idea because of lack of IT resources at our organization. This is a very important feature to consider promoting and it would certainly help salesforce.com to differientiate themselves from their competitors! |

I just had this discussion with our support rep yesterday. This would be incredibly helpful to uor company as a standard functionality. |

We have been providing this functionality for almost four years. Build any form in your brand and map that content to any Salesforce objects or fields, including custom objects/fields. Update or create multiple objects/fields from one for. Form wizard lets you select the SFDC fields and automatically builds your form. You can use branching and embed SFDC data in your forms to personalise the content. In addition to web, forms an be deployed via mass email, from a custom link or button or triggered using workflow. 5 star AppExhcange rating used by hundreds of SFDC customers. http://www.salesforce.com/appexchange/detail_overview.jsp?NavCode__c=&id=a033... www.clicktools.com |

We too would like too see this kind of standard integration. Having the ability to use a webform to capture and forward information to objects outside of the lead ojbect, i.e. contact, would be very beneficial, as my organization has no need for leads, however we are reinventing objects that have functionality for these purposes. |

i never like to see partners get overcast by new salesforce functionality... but i have to admit i would like to see this as standard functionality as well. |

Other partners can do it as well: DreamFactory's Form Factory and Carousel products can be website-posted and can create/update records in Salesforce. But that's pretty advanced stuff- a simple Web-to- form would be nice to have standard. |
