Override Standard Report Types
Since the new custom report type functionality is so great, we tell everyone to just ignore the standard report types and only use the custom made ones. So why not allow us to REPLACE the standard report types with custom ones.
Admins should be able to:
1. Override standard report types with custom report types, AND DELETE unwanted standard report types.
2. Create/Edit/Delete the Report Type folders. This would allow us to organize our report types better, and better communicate to our end users what report types they should be using.

.... or at least hide standard report types.... |

I like the idea of hiding the standard report types that you don't want the users to use anymore. |

I totally agree with this one. Plus, it would be amazing if you could limit what custom report types people see, based on profiles. But that is probably a separate idea. |

It would be great if we could hide the ones we don't want and override the ones we care about. Or at least be able to hide everything. |

Merged Idea

Hide Report Types
In the 'Report Wizard'(While creating New Custom Report) there are too many "report types" to select from in each 'Report Type Category'. We should be given an option to hide the report types.
For example, as shown in the pic, if I select 'Organization relationships & contacts', you can see lot of report types in the below column like 'Account History','Contact History' etc which are not useful to my users. I so wish to hide them. This option should be availble. [I renamed Account as Organization] Or - We should have an option to create 'New Report Type Category', so that I could place all the report types which are useful to me under the new category. |

I posted another idea that builds onto this one. Assigning Custom Report Types to specific profiles : http://ideas.salesforce.com/article/show/10088765/Assign_Custom_Report_Types_... |
