Opportunity Hierarchies!!!

My company usually has many opps associated with one project that our client is working on. I'd like to be able to have our users create many opps associated with each other under one parent opp.....almost identical to campaign hierarchies, except for opps.

kim_lebicz 12/27/07	This would be a great use for Run Rate Opportunities.
mark2008 12/27/07	We have created a lookup from opportunity to opportunity. That works fine.
heatherp 12/27/07	kim_lebicz: YES, that is exactly what we need it for - run rate opps!! Thanks for the comment, that helps! mark2008: I thought of the opp to opp lookup; however, I'd like it to be set up more like campaign hierarchies, with overall totals and such. Thanks for the comment though.
GoSeattleMariners 04/15/08	We need the ability to split opportunities amongst two sales reps. The challenge appears to report correctly on the pipeline without double counting.
kristinf 10/07/08	Are your requests primarily about being able to summarize children opportunity values (i.e. sum, count) on a parent opportunity? Are you also interested in activity roll-ups (i.e. ability to see all activities associated with a child opportunity under the parent opportunity)? By nature of owning a parent opportunity, would you want a user to inherently have sharing access to all the children opportunities?
