How do I submit a new idea to the IdeaExchange?

Why are "Popular Ideas" not sorted by number of promotions?
Popularity of an idea is a function of the number of times the idea has been promoted and commented on as well as the recentness of those promotions and comments. For example, an Idea X that has been promoted 100 times may be less popular today than Idea Y that has been promoted only 80 times if Idea X has not been promoted recently.

Yes, we’re listening! Our product management team monitors the IdeaExchange to understand which ideas are most important and most relevant to you. We take your ideas seriously when planning future releases. On occasion, our product managers will appear on the IdeaExchange to chime in on an ongoing discussion or ask for input on an idea of their own. In addition, Salesforce partners are encouraged to utilize IdeaExchange in order to create AppExchange applications.
What is Promoting all about?
Promoting is a crucial aspect of the IdeaExchange. By promoting your favorite ideas, you're telling us what your requirements are for future products.
